what a tough choice with so many viable candidates.  it was a toss up between felger and the big o, but i had to go big o!  good to see that at least my two choices were leading the way (tied for second).

there is no wrong answer....except for mike gorman, the best in the world at what he does.

see, i enjoy listening to a few on the list.  jackie mac because of her basketball background and my interest in the sport is one for sure that i could listen to all the time.

I don't have a strong opinion here. I kinda like them all, except maybe one or two. I'm just sorta curious what y'all come up with. I always learn a thing or two when I do a poll like this.

Jeesh, what a way to spread, well, something other than good cheer.

So here ya go

Donny Marshall--spouts more cliches than Hallmark
 Mike Gorman--Best in the business
 Remy-- Best in the business
 Big O/Glen Ordway-- blowhard
Ron Borges--this town needs at least one sports journalist who isn't a shill fot the Patriots.
Tommy-- Has forgotten more basketball than any of you will ever know
 Michael Holley-- full of himself
Bob Ryan-- used to know basketball
Dan Shaughnessy-- fine unless he's talking about the Red Sox
 Bill Simmons-- Twit, occasionally amusing
 John Dennis-- Racist
 Gerry Kallahan-- Racist, hatchet man.
Greg Dickerson-- Hopelessly bad. Bring back Wille Maye!
 Gary Tanguay-- Hopelessly bad
 Scott Zolak-- bleh
Bob Lobel-- Sounds like he's drunk all the time
 Meterparel-- brown nosing toadie
 Iggy-- who?
Michael Felger-- Obnoxious in a good way
 Sean McDonough-- bleh
Tony Massarotti-- good foil for Felger
 Pete Shepherd-- stronzi
Bob Neumeier-- Is he still on the air?
 Dale Arnold--bleh
Jackie MacMullan-- knows basketball, always sensible

Whatever happened to Eddie Andelman?

Can't stand Felger.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Here's my question about Felger for those who voted for him.  Do you still listen to him/read his columns, even though you hate him?  Because, even though I can certainly understand how some people don't like him, I think he is the type who people love to hate, rather than the type who people just tune out.

Worst: Dan Shaughnessy

Best: Mike Gorman, obviously. :P ...I also like Don Orsillo, I think he's a good annoucer (along with Remy).

No. He doesn't know BB at all; he doesn't know much about football or baseball; and I don't like his shtick.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
Gerry Callahan! I can't stand how D&C use their sports radio show as a platform for their political agendas.  Stupid hicks who listen to the show who have otherwise no opinion of things take on what these DBs say.

CHB gets under my skin, but he is a very talented writer when he puts his mind to it.

Who is CHB?

curly haired boyfriend...aka dan shaughnessy.

from his wiki page:

Known by Red Sox fans (and some players) as being overly negative and critical, he earned the pejorative nickname "Curly-Haired Boyfriend" from former Red Sox player Carl Everett.

Thanks alot.  TP.

No, I just don't like him.  Most of my hate comes from his hate on the Celtics.

He's the "liberal" guy on the morning Dennis and Callahan show, but it just occurred to me just now that he's not really a sports guy at all. He's a call screener/producer guy. I think. Now I'm embarrassed.
