I for one would like the C's to take a look at T.J. and try to see what they're asking price for him...

Just want to see if you guys think it is possible and what it would cost to land him?

Would rather have Robinson but if not I'd be fine with T.J.

He would be an $8.5 million backup PG with a pretty wild injury history and questionable defense.  He would fill a need, but it would be helping them more than us.

I'd pass on Ford.

The rumors are that TJ Ford is a jerk.  He has worn out his welcome everywhere.  He's also overpaid. Indiana would have to throw in major sweetners in any deal involving Ford.

If they offered Ford and a first round pick for our expirings I guess I'd consider it, because I think this Celtics team need a backup pg--but who wants to pay 8.5 million for a guy who would play 10-15 minutes a game backing up Rondo?

Yeah no Ford for me. I'd rather have Nate and I don't even like Nate that much.

Well said and I'll add that Ford is a poor jump shooter too.

Leaving no perimeter player outside of the Big Three who can hit a jump shot consistently ... unless we're going with the ultra-small backcourt of Ford + House which I find even more troubling.

I'd pass on Ford.

Agreed on both counts

I would do it but only if we couldn't get anyone better. Ford will be an expiring contract next year and if we let all of our expirings go to waste this year it might be hard to make a move next year since our only expiring next year will be Glen Davis at 3.3 mil. I'm just afraid if we let all of our expirings go we won't be in a position to improve our team in the future.

No. Ford has declined abruptly and he was never that good to start with. Extremely ball dominant, mediocre passer, bad shooter, struggles finishing at the rim. He's only good with the mid-range jumper off the dribble.

I've been impressed with Price, but I doubt he has the potential to be a starter in the league.

If you are going to spend that much on a backup PG, get one big enough to play SG as well next to Rondo (Hinrich)

With our luck, Scal would accidently run him over at practice and end his career.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

No, Ford has a player option for the 2010\11 season too, and he would be a fool to end his current contract because he will never get 8.5 million again.
Glen Davis also has a contract for 2010\11 season so he's not expiring either.

Like it or not but we don't really have a chance to improve the team until KG's contract expires.

This made no sense, to put it bluntly.

Sure it does.

It was Scali in practice that keeps hurting Perk's shoulder.

Amen.  It's not worth 8.5 mil per to upgrade House.
