Conan doesn't have much to be cynical about after his $30 million buyout, which allows him the right to negotiate a new deal with Fox starting in September. ;)

That's a very good point, but I disagree. What if your huge dream in life was to play for the Red Sox and you signed your contract and then the next week they signed someone better and said "Oh. Hey. Here's a lot of money to go away. Go play for the Yankees."  and you're just sitting there like "But I already have money and I was going to make money anyway. Thanks for treating me like dirt".

I don't think Conan wished for this.

ABC - Modern Family (one of the best new shows in a while...very funny)

Agreed... people need to start watching that show, now.
Really well done. Mockumentary style like the Office. Great characters.

Modern Family and The Office are my two favorite show's on TV right now.

I'm wondering how much of this Jay/Conan/NBC thing was actually just a well-crafted publicity stunt...

Have the ratings improved during the drama?
The ratings were way up during conan's last shows obviously. I know he got something like a 4.8 rating in the 18-45 year old demographic on his last show, which was almost a full point or so higher then his FIRST show. And on the normal night he averages a 1 or so.

The actual numbers won't be known until late this week though.

Of course he didn't wish for this.  But Conan understands (and said much more elequently than I can), just because things don't come out exactly how you wished or planned, does not mean its a bad thing.  He understands that while it is a tough way to go out, for one, it could end up being for the best, and two, he still has it better than 99.9999999% of the population, so no one should feel bad for him.

Looks like FOX is looking to get Conan a late-night show. Though at the moment it still seems like a long-shot. But they're in communication and studying if it will be profitable to bring Conan along. If I were Conan, I'd just take a salary cut (at the start) to make it happen... he already got a huge buy-out, so he doesn't need a huge salary.

This morning I watched Remington Steele while eating Sugar Smacks out of a salad bowl. I was naked.

wow.....thats really too bad.  Being in a house with no cable I always enjoyed Conan more than any other late night guy.  I guess I'll have to settle for Jay ::)
