I just saw Due Date last night.  My wife picked it so I mentally checked out instantly, and mostly surfed the net, but the writing was so good I got sucked in. It was decent. I don't usually say that about movies made these days.

King's Speech......not too long ago a movie like this was called a good movie.  Nowadays it's best picture, director, actor, supporting actor, supporting actress.

It's good. I wouldn't call it spending money good.

Also I'm noticing Titanic won awards for Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing.

Can anyone tell me the difference? Please?

Brazil- Not a fan.  A bit too long, a bit too repetitive.  I definitely prefer Terry Gilliam's 90s output compared to his 80s stuff.

Equilibrium- Had it's moments, but it seemed like a rather forced combination of The Matrix and 1984.  And for an action movie, there was a serious lack of action.

Watched "The Lovely Bones." It was well-made. Some parts were rather gripping, though.

Right, let me split this up:

Cinema: Battle: Los Angeles
A lot of explosions. Yeah, that just summed up the entire movie. If you don't own a good home cinema set, either see it in a cinema or don't see it at all, because if you want action, make sure you get the most out of that element: there isn't much else in this one. Acting is alright, casting is mediocre and dialogues (and monologues :p) are cliché-filled and rather bland.
As my girlfriend Tweeted after watching it: "... the good thing about [Battle LA] is that the Lakers died."

DVD: Howl's Moving Castle
Looking at you, Edgar. A great anime/cartoon by the people that did "Spirited Away", about a young woman, a wizard and a moving, steampowered castle. Love it, because it's so different than the cartoons I grew up with. Safe to watch, even when you're a grownup :p

Laptop: He Got Game
This one shouldn't need any introduction, so all I'll do is point at the soundtrack, which is just too awesome :p Had to download this one since I left my copy back in Holland. Funny. Legal downloading, but it still feels wrong... (I guess it's not THAT legal, since torrenting works two ways :p)

Can't believe they did a remake of "Arthur" ... IMHO, one of those "Classics" that should not be remade. :P

I haven't seen this in years and I must say what a great movie this is, Dustin Hoffman and Valerie Perrine are great as is the direction by Bob Fosse. This is why I love 70's movies, the realism and fearlessness. Kind of sad that this movie is some what forgotten.

The Fighter... Worst freakin movie ever if you consider all the hype around it. The fight scenes were horrrrrrible, slow, unrealistic, chopped-up and boring. I felt like I was watching a crappy version of rocky.

I also thought Megamind was good, got it for my kids and ended up watching the whole thing with them.
