FYI: One of the greatest Martial Arts movies ever made is on AMC tonight at 8PM ... "Enter The Dragon" starring Bruce Lee, John Saxon, Shih Kien, Jackie Chan, (uncredited - before he was famous), and many more! If you love Martial Arts and don't have it on DVD, this is a definite must-see ... yes, the OKC/Orlando game is on then, too, but that's why they invented PIP!! ;)

I saw that and cried a little inside. My gf decided we were going to watch re runs of community and the big bang theory. Usually a high point in my night, but Enter The Dragon would've been so much cooler.

Hey, IP - they repeated it at 10:30 ... I know you've missed some, now that it's 11, but you haven't missed much of the action. ;)

THat's what I get for not checking the boards more often. Completely missed out.

Just watched "Sunshine" for the first time in a long while ... I'd forgotten what a great and under-appreciated sci-fi/suspense movie it was. I would say it's one of the best low-budget films I've ever seen, (made for only $40M), and it's a shame it didn't get more recognition, (I think it grossed only around $35M).

It was made in Great Britain and actual filming was only around 15 weeks, and done completely on set. It was directed by Danny Boyle, who said he would not do another sci-fi film, as it was too emotionally exhausting, (if you watch, you'll know why).

It was done with a group of superb "non-star" actors, and while the premise is not scientifically accurate, it still comes across very believable and very intense, via their extraordinary performances.

It was one of those I picked up from a pile in some bargain bin at Wal-Mart ... I had never heard of it or seen any advertising, but it was sci-fi and only five bucks, so I chanced it. I was not disappointed.

Excellent film.

Just watched Monster. Geez. Great performance by Theron.

Though unrelated thematically, her appearance reminded me of 80's ugly duckling turns to hot swan movies. She looked really homely in that movie but is one gorgeous woman.

"Serendipity" ... just happened upon it ... I guess you'd call it a "chick flick", but worth the watch for anyone who's even remotely romantic ... or anyone who feels this life is more than just chaos and happenstance.

Devil

The first movie by M Night Shyamalan that I have enjoyed since Unbreakable.

5 people get trapped in an elevator, mayhem ensues. The idea is that one of the people is the devil.

I didn't get the "devil conversation" that I love. You know the one, where the devil slowly reveals things about yourself that he/she has no way of knowing, until at the end, big reveal, its the devil.

This was more pull the rug out, with some elements of suspense and horror, and some heavy moments with a dark camera and ominous sounds, that were a little forced. Kind of like in a play when the lights go out and then one of the cast members is killed, but you don't see it.

But beyond that, I sincerely didn't see the ending coming (and in a M Night movie, you're guessing at what the big reveal is the whole time, so at some point you settle on a theory, yadda yadda). I really enjoyed it, very well acted and directed (although it should be noted that M Night only had the story, the screenplay and direction were others).

IMDB gives it a 6.5 out of 10, and i don't think that's a bad rating. I'd go as far as 7, 7.5 though. Worth watching.

I agree 100%.

Been waiting to see it ... the last room I did was an "Aladdin" room, (mostly Jasmine - with a flying carpet bed), and that was a while ago. Man, time goes by so fast.

Pixar ranks for me:

Nemo
Up
Wall-E
Toy Story
Ratatoullie
Bug's Life
Incredibles
Monsters Inc.
Cars (sorry Edgar  ;) )...It was good, but so are the rest

BTW, I saw a trailer for Cars 2.  Apparently they are detectives in this one. Now, I understand you need to go into the movie already accepting a few things about the nature of cars having human qualities, etc...But I don'[t know if I'm buying what they're selling with a Cars detective story.  We shall see.
