Centurion.  While it wasn't anything great or unique, it was entertaining enough.  The battle scenes were gorey in an attempt for more realism, though I felt it went a bit far for my tastes.  The movie also falls into typical action movie cliches.

Just saw "The Fighter"  and thought it was very good.  Sort of a New England "Rocky" but based on a true story.  I didn't connect with the characters as well as I had hoped, though, even though I grew up close to that area (my dad's family was from Lowell).  I would give it a 7 of 10.  I am glad I saw it, but it is not one of those movies I need to see again.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

Pretty hilariously over-the-top and entertaining. Tons of explosions and funny one-liners. It's basically an older version of Machete.

I highly recommend this movie if you're into campy action movies that don't take themselves seriously. Plus, Eva Mendes is a stone cold fox.

I just saw "Black Swan" and it was excellent.

I'm pretty sure I started a thread about this film back around March or so after I read the screenplay. I set the bar extremely high and this film managed to meet all of my expectations as far as quality goes. I was not expecting it to be so scary. It wasn't a legitimate horror film but it had quite a few scenes that make you jump. It was similar to Shutter Island in regards to style. It was set up like a psychological thriller with some horror elements scattered here and there. If anybody has given a performance more deserving of Best Actress this year than Natalie Portman please let me know, because her performance was remarkable. It will leave you asking yourself questions a la "Memento", "Fight Club", "Inception", etc. The score was awesome. Clint Mansell and Darren Aronofsky teamed up once again to deliver the perfect score to accompany the visuals. This duo has worked together on a few films and their combined geniuses are comparable to Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone.

I gave this film a 10/10 on IMDb.com although in reality it is about a 9.5 which is exactly how I would describe my rating of Inception.

The latest Narnia

Not the best of the 3 so far, but the story line wasn't as good as the others either.
Yup

It is a bit sad, but nothing like "Artificial Intelligence" ... couldn't believe how sad and hopeless that movie was at the end, after really enjoying the rest ... the little Teddy Bear sitting there for eternity waiting for his boy to wake up ... right up there with "Old Yeller", (I'll never get over the trauma from that one, lol!).

Just watched "Collateral" for the first time ... excellent movie by Michael Mann ... Tom Cruise played a great bad guy, Jamie Foxx a super job in a very difficult role. Wish I'd seen it sooner.

I just watched The Squid and the Whale. It's not a new movie, but I've meaning to watch it since forever, and I'm glad I did. It's a good movie, but it can be a little quirky at times. Jeff Daniels and Jesse Eisenberg really make this movie what it is.

On another note, I saw The Town about a week ago and didn't enjoy it at all. But that's just me.

I just went and saw True Grit, very good movie.

Never seen the original, but I enjoyed this one. Little slow in the beginning, but once they hit the trail it gets good.

Favorite scene: Confrontation with man wearing bear skin.
