Avatar finally!

Twas great, but certainly not a revolutionary film that will change cinema forever as it has been hyped up to be.

I just thought it was a very good movie with a very bad first 20 minutes.

I thought the special effects were great, but the story was laughingly bad.

I saw Goodbye Solo a few days ago. Excellent movie.

I also watched From Dusk Till Dawn. I expected it to be much better. I though it was pretty bad.

I haven't seen this in years and I must say it is still pretty good. What I love about the 70's movies is the realism they bring, it does feel contrived at all. Even though I hate disco I must say the BEE GEE's songs are really really good in this film.

Avatar in 3d at the Imax yesterday (finally saw it).

Visually and the special effects aspect are revolutionary. Plot is so so.

I watched The Box and Atonement this weekend.

The Box started off fairly well.  Unfortunately, they then took it in a direction that was confusing, with huge plot gaps, etc.  It felt like I'd skipped over certain chapters on the dvd.  The last half of the movie really stunk, to the point where I'd give this one a thumbs down.

Atonement was filmed well, was well-acted, had an interesting enough story...  It's just not a story I liked very much.  The world doesn't always have a happy ending, but I'd like my love stories to.

Everytime I see this movie I am amazed at how good it is.

Date Night last night. Very funny show. I was prepared for so-so and it was quite a bit better than that. I have a new liking of Tina Fey. She was very funny.

Though I personally like tragic endings, even in love stories, I agree with your general comments on Atonement. Something about the story just lost me along the way.

Last of the Mohicans

Just watched it again for the umpteenth time & still wow----Hopefully been mentioned here a hundred times but if you haven't seen it--moving, powerful, historic--great acting, great music, great story--movie making at its best>
