Mrs. eja is watching Julie and Julia well within ear shot.

If any of you ever wanted to kill me now is the time.

Why couldn't the movie have just been 145 minutes of nails on chalkboards? Why?

Frog Princess

When I heard Disney was going to have its first black princess I kinda thought it might just be a token film to get critics off thier backs but it might be the best Disney animated film ever.

Disney is getting more global and they're doing an ok job

Lion King - Africa
Mulan - China
Emporer's Last Groove - Native American
Hercules - Greek
Tarzan - Africa
Pocahantas - Native American
Aladdin - Middle East Turk
Lilo and Stitch - Native Hawaiian
Frog Princess - New Orleans African American and Cajun

They could do better, but they could do way worse too

Frog Princess was good.  Took my girls to see it.  They were a little spooked by the voo doo stuff, but loved the movie.  I liked the modern woman princess - independent, hard worker, etc...

fun music, and good ol' fashioned animation.
Yup

I have no problems with CGI animation, but it is cool to see a more traditionally animated movie make it big.

Sicko.

Interesting stuff. I'm glad that the system is changing in the US.

Impressive acting. Worth the watch, mostly about Watergate etc.

The Hurt Locker - I gave it a 3.5 out of 4. Best movie I've seen from 2009 other than Inglourious Basterds. Ridiculously nerve racking, reminded me of a horror movie the way I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Very nice use of the violin squeal from "There Will be Blood" in a scene where Jeremy Renner's character finds a ridiculous amount of bombs that are hidden.
Should be up for Best Picture at the Academy Awards considering there will be 10 nominees this year. The only thing I did not like was the lack of an ending. There were basically 3 protagonists and we only had closure with 1 towards the end of the movie. Great movie overall, definitely worth the watch.

Thanks, will def do. I was thinking what to write about Frost/Nixon so people would actually watch it, but I came up empty.

You did a good job at describing it ;)

Curious Case of Ben Button. I won't watch it again, but not because I didn't like it..it was too darn long is all. However, emotionally very evocative. Sometimes with movies like these, I get to feeling manipulated, like film makers take the easy way out, by just playing cards they know tug on heart strings. This movie, despite being completely predictable, and eerily like Forest Gump, was not manipulative. You'll only want to watch it once, but if you haven't, I highly recommend it.

Slackers...it was funny seeing Jason Segel as one of the main characters before his Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall stardom. Really funny guy.
