This is just me, but there are a few bodies in the NBA that just look wrong and Oden is probably the biggest. Next might be Bron

Maybe because they came into the nba looking like they were 30 years old?

That's really a shame to hear.  Its really beginning to look like Oden is never gonna come close to the expectations that many had and, instead, will be remembered as a talent that couldn't stay on the court because of constant injuries.

He's still young and I'd love to see him bounce back but its not promising.

To me this is just another reason why we should try to maximize and appreciate what we have now.  Even if Danny is able to land a really high draft pick or a young stud on the free agent market in a couple years, you never know if that player is going to end up like Oden with the Blazers or say Grant Hill with the Magic.

Even the best laid plans can backfire.  So we really need to appreciate what we have now.

Actually I think that's a little generous on Oden's part, but yeah.

Scals + TA + Giddens = Oden.  Now's the time to hit 'em with a lowball trade offer.

 ;)

This may just be me but I have to suspect there are reasons for him being hurt all the time. I just think either he suffers from gigantism or there's too much HGH type stuff in his body and his fairly young body can't handle it.

This is just me, but there are a few bodies in the NBA that just look wrong and Oden is probably the biggest. Next might be Bron, and honestly there are just a lot of other players I see that just look off somehow. Even the Celts. Look at Perk and Rondo and to maybe a lesser degree Sheed and Pierce.

Maybe I'm confusing ugly with medical awkwardness or something, but when I look at Oden in particular I just see a really messed up body that for whatever reason didn't age or grow right.
Any time you're dealing with a 7 foot tall man you're obviously on the extreme end of the growth curb. Sadly this a ton of them have constant health issues from it.
yeah, but there are some 7 footers that look pretty healthy to me. Like Tim Duncan (I think the swimming did him good) and D Howard.  Just totally different than Oden. They just look really tall. Oden looks like he walked out of Frankenstein's lab (or Balcos)

Wow..when I saw the news this morning I just shook my head for him. Hope him well.

Portland's still in decent shape..Oden's backup (Joel Przybilla) would start on about half the NBA teams right now. He is a solid player, and may be a slightly better defender due to his experience, IMO.

Rasheed?  Yeah he could go back to his old team Iverson style!

Funny, I was thinking more baby for outlaw. We're fine without Baby, so just get outlaw and wait for him to get healthy, then we're better.

Unfortunate for Oden. I don't think he's every going to have consecutive healthy seasons if any at all. It's really too bad the NBA needs as many talented bigmen as possible.

Offtopic: Danny would've taken Durant.

I love how Portland fans are still trying to convince themselves that taking Durant would have been a disaster.

I really can't stand Portland fans.   Bunch of whining crybaby ninnies.  They called Boston a bunch of bullies and this year had themselves convinced they were winning a title.

My hope is that Portland decides to trade Oden, Oden recovers 100% and ends up dominating on some other team.

He is back.  8 minutes, 6 points, 2 rebounds, on 2 of 3 from the field including a rebound to dunk combo that looked pretty nice.

I figured his first game action since December 2009 deserved a bump of a thread from December 2009.
