Saw this on last night's Sportscenter.

Obviously, her actions are terrible.  But what I really want to know is how was she able to get away with all of this without getting red carded early on?  What exactly were the referees watching?  Some of these acts were right at the action of play so how a referee could miss it is beyond me?  She got yellow-carded late, right?  And that was it?

I dont really have a problem with it.  Most soccer is people crawling around pretending that somebody did something like this too them.  All shes doing is providing them a reason to complain.

They punched back by winning the game. What Lambert did was ridiculous...

She only got the yellow card late... and it was after a little slide tackle. I have no problem with hard slide tackling but punching and pulling people down by the hair... come on now.

I did see the lowlights on Sportscenter.

She should have been red carded. Refs should be reprimanded for not doing their job.

Glad it got some attention on Sportscenter. She's an embarrassment to her school. UNM's DA should suspend her for the rest of the season, if not kick her off the team.

Doubt it would happen... She's a hard-nosed defender. The school probably loves it.

Both of those are embraced in other sports though.  You are allowed to tackle by the hair in football and punching is one of the main attractions of hockey.  I root for somebody to tackle polamalu by the hair every week, especially after it happened once and the dude actually pulled some of it out.

Im not condoning it, but lets not act like we havent seen it before, its just the context within which we see it now that is getting everybody up in arms.  Non-news in my opinion.

So it's OK for her to give someone whiplash by yanking their hair, punch people in the back and smack others in their face according to you?  But I bet if she called the girl a (Insert derogatory term for mentally handicap) you'd be all up in arms.

Intent to injure in any sport is a grounds for a penalty, if not ejection.

Anyone who has ever played soccer knows how physical a sport it is, but what this young woman did is not within the bounds of the rules, or fair play. Her actions were akin to the eye-gouging by that Florida football player this past week.

Thanks for the random personal attack, I appreciate it, Class act.

Good news for women's soccer. They're being talked about once again. The WNBA needs some more fights, like the one with Candace Parker.

Why didn't anyone kick her ass in return? They almost deserved to get punched like they did.
