in other news, Time Warner Cable is really killing me right now. my signal keeps dying and I can't watch for a stretch of 4 mins or so. really sux. they diagnosed it (over the phone) as a problem with the box. they will be here between 2-6pm on Tuesday to fix/ replace -- i told them it better be up and running by 4:30pm on Tuesday.
Oh, man ... I would SUE if they don't fix it by then! I think missing opening games is an NBA crime, so it would be their crime by default, (or should be!) I'll say a prayer, my friend ... seriously.
Thanks. I have just finished searching old CB posts for the names of NYC sports bars that are boston friendly (we just moved to NYC in July). Someone suggested Professor Thoms, so maybe I'll give that a try, and let my wife deal with the cable guy. I dunno. Sort of annoyed. Plus I've given up on the game tonight, signal keeps getting ko-ed.
GRRRRR
Sorry to hear that, my friend ... I'm sure they'll get it fixed in time. I lived in NYC for a while ... did an internship there. I lived at 169 East 89th Street ... not a bad neighborhood ... but I was overwhelmed a bit, small-town Maine-iac in the big city. I used to get up at 5AM to go jogging, and to get away from the intensity, and even though the streets were quiet and no people, there was still that constant "throb" of the city that you can never get away from ... amazing. I love to visit NYC, there's nothing like it, but I wasn't made to live there for long periods. Boston was much more do-able for me, cuz it was big city, but you could still get away from the pressure without much trouble, and walk from here-to-there.
