Boston Celtics (2-1) at New Jersey Nets (0-3) Tuesday, October 13, 2009
7:00 PM ET
CSN HD, YES HD
Prudential Center, Newark, NJ

Probable Starters

PG:  Rajon Rondo
SG:  Ray Allen
SF:   Paul Pierce
PF:   Kevin Garnett
C:    Kendrick Perkins
(Doc has said that the Pierce, Allen and Garnett will sit out one of the two back to backs, either this game vs the Nets or Wednesday's game vs the Raptors.  So, this may or may not be the starting lineup for this game)

Reserves
Eddie House
Rasheed Wallace
Marquis Daniels
Shelden Williams
Tony Allen
Brian Scalabrine
Lester Hudson
Michael Sweetney

Injuries:
Bill Walker (knee) out
Tony Allen (ankle) day to day

Probable Starters

PG:  Devin Harris
SG:  Chris Douglas-Roberts
SF:   Terrance Williams
PF:   Yi Jianlian
C:     Brook Lopez

Reserves

Jarvis Hayes
Rafer Alston
Josh Boone
Sean Williams
Bobby Simmons
Bennett Davis
Brian Hamilton
Tony Battie
Trenton Hassell
Will Blalock
Courtney Lee
Eduardo Najera

Injuries

Keyon Dooling (hip) out
Devin Harris  (ankle)  day to day

Key Matchups
  vs
Rajon Rondo vs Devin Harris
In the first meeting between these teams, Harris sat out with an ankle injury.  Hopefully we will see him in this game to give Rondo a challenge and to see if he ups his game to meet it.

  vs
Kendrick Perkins vs Brook Lopez
Lopez is a very good young center and he torched the Celtics for 21 points to go with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks in the first meeting between these two clubs.  He also shot 14 free throws.  Perk needs to clamp down on defense and keep Lopez from beating him again.

The Celtics won the first matchup between these two teams in a game that was much closer than it should have been.   With the possibility that Doc may sit his stars in this game, it is hard to predict anything about it.

I've seen a several posts talking about our second unit having players who would be starting for a lot of other teams.  If Doc sits the starters, this will be their chance to prove it.  If the starters do play, I expect another win for the C's.

First to post! Wooh! TP FL, another great preview!
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

That's a pretty new arena there.  I particularly like the Seton Hall floor in the rendering.   ;D

I look for a huge game from Sweetney! Also, I did not realize Battie was on the Nets. That guy has had a really long career for someone called "el busto" in his rookie year.

Which of the starters will sit? KG maybe?

I'd like to see more of Lester, JR and the Sweetney / Williams combo. After all, it's preseason :)

So it's on YES? I checked before seeing this topic, so thank god. I hate Southern Connecticut.

Now, considering the gyms are open 6:30-9:15, play basketball or watch it? [dang]it. :'(

And Scal always plays very well against his former team.

Read what you're quoting before you freak out too much....

FL just left him off by accident.
