The quarterfinals are :

Russia   Serbia
France   Spain
Turkey   Greece
Slovenia Croatia

Slovenia must try very hard to lose the game. They are much better team but knock outs are not their favurite games. Usually they are victims of a ugly (for them) surprise. I hope not this time.

Russia - Serbia and France-Spain. Anything can happen. I`ll go with Serbia and Spain

About Turkey - Greece i can`t comment. I`m a little biased. :D

Yesterday Calderon predicted that will qualify to the semis the 4 teams from the 2nd group (Slovenia,Turkey,Serbia,Spain). Possibly he`ll be proved right.

Russia just got eliminated by Serbia!

Next game is Spain/France, I'm not really confident about France's chances but I hope it will be a great game.

I hope France whoops the crud out of them, but Rudy Fernandez drops 30. TP for the first person who knows why.

Don't know why, but right now France is getting crushed. :'(

France had 6 turnovers is the first 6.5 mins ! You can`t beat anyone like this. Spain plays great D on  Parker adn without him France can`t do much .

Yeah, at the worst time for the French team. ;D

I'm disappointed because France went undefeated for 6 games but reality finally caught us back... Now I hope Turkey or any other team will defeat Spain because I just hate Gasol even more now.

Turkey won`t do you the favour... cause they won`t qualify :D LOL

Useless stat (i can`t verify it myself but it looks ok): Slovenia in 17 games in the knock out stage (eurobasket , world champ and ol. games) has 17 defeats !!!

That stat can`t be true. There is no way we were in 17 knock out games in our short history...

The problem is we are running out of players. We only have 10 available for the quarter finals, 8 of them fully healthy...with only 1 PG left the pressure on our back court will be huge...

We have been cursed in these championships. Injury after injury...

Still, I believe in our team. Chemistry, hustle, heart and team play should be enough for the semifinals...

The number indeed seems to be wrong. I did a little googling and the only similar thing i`ve found is that in 17 tournaments Slovenia failed to get past quarterfinals. Which is still impressive having in my mind the talent this team has.

I agree about tonight though. It will be huge surprise if Croatia wins

Croatia looked great in tournaments before Euro, but they played poor during. I think/hope they will get their s*** together all advance this round, plus we(Croats) have bad blood with Slovenia so it will be a fight for every point out there.

GO CROATIA!!!!

Well, if you have bad blood with Slovenians, just imagine a semi-final against Serbia!  ;D (and the same for Slovenia).
Also Greece-Turkey is not precisely a match between brothers, I guess.
Anyway, I hope basketball overtake History and politics this evening and we can watch 2 very good games.

This kind of rivalries are more in the head of the fans.  I`ve watched many games Croatia - Serbia in water polo which is a little "violent" compared to basketball and there wasn`t any kind of hostility and fanatism between the players.

Anyway i can`t see Croatia winning. As for the other game it will be possibly the most ugly game of the tournament. Low and close score. But i can stand that as long as Greece wins :D

Greece vs Spain
Slovenia vs Serbia

Nice semifinals. To me the surprise of the tournament is Slovenia for sure, really nice tournament.

Can't wait for the games to start! :)

OMG, Croatia scored like 46-48 points in the first half and in one point had a 15 point lead, and in the second half I think they scored like 18 points and only 3 in the 3rd qtr!!!!! :(
