I do give the edge to the 1996, and probably 1984.

In 1996 you have 3 MVPs (Iverson, Nash, and Bean Bryant) along with Ray Allen, Marbury, Walker, Abdur-Rahim, O'neal, and Stojkvoic which were all all-stars.  Plus Camby's been very solid for years.

I do think top to bottom, at least in the last 20 years, the 1996 draft was the best.

Now that's a fun topic, huge draft mistakes.

How about San Antonio drafting Alfredrick Hughes (SG) at 14 in 1985. They could have drafted Dumars, Gerald Wilkins, Mario Elie or Sam Vincent and that's just shooting guards.
Man, Mario Ellie was drafted in '85?!? I didn't realize that. He was around forever.

I'll go with the 1984 class:

Hakeem Olajuwon
Charles Barkley
Michael Jordan
Alvin Robertson
John Stockton

It's virtually impossible to beat HOFers like that

1984 has three players who won a total of 7 MVPs (Jordan 5, Hakeem and Barkley 1 apiece), 2 players who won a combined 8 Finals MVPs and 4 of the fifty greatest players all time. Got to give it to 84.

Nick I concede that team may be better but again look at the pure depth of players still playing in the NBA from that 2003 draft. Could be a testament to lack of talent in the NBA or just that draft was that good

And Also guys like Lebron, melo, Wade are still getting better, I think williams Bosh and Kaman kinda, "are what they are" at this point though
It is a bit early to say, because the 2003 guys will no doubt continue to make names for themselves. Eventually, a few of them have the potential to be HOF caliber, depending upon how their careers play out.

We are now getting to the point where every year except 2 or 3 in the last 25 years are on here....LOL
A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.

Push yourself again and again. Don't give an inch until the final buzzer sounds.

1984 was pretty good:

Michael Jordan
Hakeem Olajuwon
Charles Barkley
John Stockton

Those guys are all arguably top-five at their positions, all-time.

Other players were guys like Alvin Robertson, Sam Perkins, Otis Thorpe, Kevin Willis, and Jerome Kersey.  2003 was deeper, but I don't think any draft has had four elite players of the quality that '84 did.

Absolutely '84 ... Roy nailed it, especially when considering the accumulated effect these players had on the NBA as a whole, not just their individual or team accomplishments. (TP)
