It begins and ends with The Chronic, but I guess that's not underated.

The Low End Theory-A Tribe Called Quest

i was actually going to say Midnight Marauders (1993). Low End Theiry gets plenty of repect, but i think Midnight Marauders gets left out sometimes because of the greatness of ATCQ's first 2 albums. Marauders is not as good as Low End theory, but i think i would consider it more underrated.

as for jeru, he is amazing and deserves all respect coming his way. every album of his is fantastic. great voice and the lyrics are second to none.
"Maybe now you'll never slime a guy with a positron collider, huh?"

Now Deltron 3030 is definitely a slept on album.  Actually I think that's got to be one of the most underrated, slept on albums ever, let me change my answer to that.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I feel it has to be "Camp Lo's Uptown Saturday night". DL that album through i-tunes it is one of the most original albums ever created. This record came out over ten years before Jay Z dropped the "American Gangster Soundtrack" which is the only album that I can really compare it to.

Everything about this album from the beats to the coded language is on point. If there are some youngbloods out there who are hip-hop heads and don't know about this album I implore you to actually spend the money. Anybody who makes music like this deserves to get paid.

Luchini is so classic, I definitely felt Camp Lo was slept on.

A lot of DJ Premier stuff I feel is very underrated, like Jewelz by OC, and Jeru the Damaja's first 2 albums, The Sun Rises In the East and Wrath of the Math.

Still listen to these alot.

i agree entirely on jeru. sometimes his flow gets a little old, but those beats are insane. some of premier's best and that is saying something.

oc i always preferred word...life, that is slept on as well.

How about Onyx-Bacdafucup. Strictly hip-hop, strictly hardcore. They came out at the same time Mobb Deep who's sound and style was similar but I think it was M.O.P. who probably mirrored them the best. That unique way they'd spit so that all 3 would finish a verse together. There aren't really any popular rap GROUPS anymore. There are occasional collaborations but Slam, Shiftee, Throw Ya Gunz and some others will still get the boys jumpin' in the club.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...
