Converse has updated the Weapon with a new version called Weapon EVO

http://www.converse.com/#/products/shoes/basketball/110913

guess who got a free pair for agreeing to review them - this blog has some perks

im jealous!!!!  if you ever need a "regular poster" to review sneakers on here, i would love to do it.  i am passionate about collecting and highly knowledgeable about footwear.

I have always thought the idea of "reviewing" footwear, or fashion in general was always a very strange thing, because it really is such a subjective thing.  Other than the actual quality of the materials and handiwork, I just find it kind of strange for anyone to review styles like that.  You either like it or you don't, and everyone's opinion is different.

I suppose this is a problem with reviews of anything, but for some reason, it always came across as much stranger to me when people review clothes than other works of art (where it is easier to seethe skill of the artist, even if you don't like their style).

edit: sorry for the tangent, this just has always been something that confused me.

i disagree when it comes to performance footwear, like basketball shoes.  i think u can review the materials, support, traction, etc objectively and it will apply to alot of people.  i think with regards to cushion or feel, it is more subjective.

the same criticism, as u noted, could be said for other reviews....
-movies
-books
-music
etc

however, with regards to performance products, such as a vehicle or aforementioned bball shoes, a review can be objective and valuable

Thought these were a cool idea, the Air McFly, based on Marty's from "Back to the Future 2."

the concept is cool and there was a lot of hype around these, but not my style.  kind of like the yeezys

I regret to inform you that Wu Tang Clan doesn't wear these shoes. At least not Methodman, Ghostface Killa or Redman

it is a tribute shoe, not a signature shoe.  (although he does collaborations and has 2 albums with meth, redman isnt in wu tang).

The concept of $25 shoes was awesome

I think they were actually only $15 and when Steve and Barry's opened new stores, you could get them for $8 (yes, I actually bought mine for $8). They weren't very comfortable in the heel area, though- so I returned them and got my precious $8 back.

On a related note, I also owned Shawn Kemp's 'reign man' shoe by Reebok when he was on Cleveland (well after he couldn't really dunk anymore) and I also owned Karl Malone's L.A. Gear shoes with the 'catapult' system...

Now I just wear running shoes so that I have better agility (and I am actually an avid player, too)...geez, I guess I am pretty ghetto.  :-\

I wore those LA Gears. What god-awful shoes.
