Couldn't find Portland's original post. But I do think that the amount of time missed due to injury over the past couple of years on that team signals that it is two steps too far over the hill to be a contender.

SG: Redd
PG: Bibby
Bench: Manu/Miller/Delonte/Gomes/Turiaf
I think even if you assume that only one of Manu / Redd is there at the end of the year, we're still a contender.
Shaq / Miller
O'Neal / Turiaf
Rashard / Gomes
Manu / Delonte
Bibby / Delonte
Heck, even if you took Manu *and* Redd away, we're still a playoff team, in my eyes.
(Also, Manu and Redd are too young to be "over the hill".)
