"Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.s" en los foros.

I would love to see you involved with Edgar and I managing a new Spanish language forum here at CelticsBlog, Requila. "Gringo Intimidator" has a nice ring to it! We should also come up with a good title for Edgar. As for me, I will settle for "He of Bad Spanish Who Has No Clue."

I will be out for a good portion of tomorrow, but now that we have two trustworthy volunteers to help with forum moderation, I will begin the process of setting up an new Spanish forum here at CelticsBlog.

I'll be providing you both with a new level of access to this website that will allow you to interact with our other site moderators. We will also setup our new Spanish forum with its own moderator board so that Spanish-specific discussions related to forum moderation may be carried out there. It will be open to other site moderators as well.

I would also like for you and Edgar to think about this. We can categorize the Spanish forum much the same way that the current CelticsBlog forums are categorized. We can do that by creating what we call "child" boards that would reside under the "mother" Spanish board. In this way, we can establish a set of sub-forums that best reflect the needs of the Spanish mother forum.

I am very excited about this.

Ah! Pendejos, Culeros... Vagabundos tontos y perezosos! Thank you Edgar. If there is anything better than being able to insult people in multiple languages, I can't imagine what it might be. :D

Man, my Spanish grammar is really terrible.

I will be out for a few hours this afternoon, but when I return I'll finish revising our posting rules. I'll let you know when that is complete and we can begin translating them to Spanish.

•   No discuta actividades ilegales.

Un buen tema puede ser, “ Foo rashes when i do barâ€

     http://www.catb.org/~Eesr/faqs/smart-questions.html by Eric Raymond.

Here's a few possibilities...

thesaurus = tesauro?

script = escritura or manuscrito? (This actually references high level programming languages. Since English is the reference language for all programming, "scripts" might suffice here. In other words, anyone who would understand the reference to scripts would understand the meaning of the word rendered in English.)

enlaces de , warez , de ****, a los esquemas phishing o (Rey may have some input on this, but once again, this is another example of words that are related to technology that are universal for the most part.)

smilies (smiley and smilies are also fairly universal. Unless there are common Spanish variations on these, we could probably just use them as they are.)

“ Foo rashes when i do bar†(Another technical reference that is fairly universal.)

logs and command line output (Two other fairly universal technical references.)

draft (This one is tough for me. It does not refer to beer, a breeze or an uncompleted work. Perhaps "selección". What do you think?)

thesaurus = tesauro?

Entonces dejalos asi

smilies (smiley and smilies are also fairly universal. Unless there are common Spanish variations on these, we could probably just use them as they are.)
Si usalo como Smileys

“ Foo rashes when i do bar” (Another technical reference that is fairly universal.

logs and command line output (Two other fairly universal technical references.)

Yes, I think that might work well.

"Like this", yes, that would work.

Yes.

Yo no estoy familiarizado con podriamos. Defina por favor.

Yes, "ingresos" in the sense of "entry" and not "profit" or "revenue".

The only thing I have to say to Edgar and Rey is, you guys better keep posting on the main boards, as well!  You guys are a big part of the blog, and definitely add to the enjoyment of it, so make sure you continue to make your presence felt with all of us exclusively English-speaking folks.

Thanks CelticS 86. It is true that we are taking this project seriously. Integrating other language forums into any website presents special challenges. We are trying to get it right.

The key ingredient of course is having good people to help with the setup and management, and in this respect, we couldn't have better partners than Edgar and Reyquila. It is a pleasure working with them on this endeavor. They are bright and articulate, and have wonderful senses of humor. Both are also good communicators who understand the value of good teamwork.

I believe those qualities will help make the Spanish forum successful. I also believe the lessons we learn as we run the Spanish forum will better prepare us for adding other language forums if enough interest is shown to warrant adding those. In that sense, the Spanish forum will serve as a model for others in time.

I need for you and Reyquila to look over the "Lea Esto Primero: Las reglas de la Composición" post I made in the new forum and help me adjust it if needed. Otherwise, we have the beginning of our new Spanish forum! I will be setting up some additional things for it later today.

I love languages and I'd try it and/or check it out
