I don't think that we should Re-sign Powe.  I really like him as a player, but I am extremely doubtful that he can fully bounce back.  And if he does we sign him for a half a year of DNP's.  I think the money would be best spent elsewhere for somebody that can play right away.

who cares if he's the 15th man on the bench and has a contract that isn't guaranteed?

we never play the end of the bench anyway (nor does any good team)

surley powe as a towel waver for half the season with the hope that he can contribute is better than watching the following 4 players wave towels.

1) gabe pruitt
2) J.R giddeons
3) lester hudson
4) bill walker (though i do have hopes he can contribute a bit this year)

Im cool with cutting any of the top 3 projects to keep a proven NBA rotation player on for short money.

I would care if it prevented us from signing somebody else that would help the team....

we should definitely look into the birdman!

An athletic freak who rebounds, blocks shots, energizes the crowd and get garbage baskets... what's not to like?

I would consider him for the full midlevel because he'd be our sixth or seventh man.  He can sub in for KG and Perk.

I'm just saying, its a whole lot easier to get an effective, cheap 2/3 guy then it is to get a back 4/5 guy.  If we got the birdman and someone like anthony parker i think we'd have a great shot next year.
