Nope -- Danny only makes a trade if he gets blown away by the package, and I don't think he'll get a trade offer that good.

I don't think so, because the value the Celtics are placing on Rondo is probably higher than any other team is willing to offer.  However, he is definitely available.

I said "Maybe" but leaning more towards the No side.

Something is definitely going on here.  I think its more of a "gauge of value" thing but if the right opportunity presented itself, I wouldn't put it past Ainge to pull the trigger at all.

Me too, but what I'm hearing makes me nervous.

I say no.  He is still young and I think these problems with his attitude will eventually go away.

Also, a couple of years down the road when the new big three are retired Rondo will be the face of this franchise.  He will be the guy the Celtics are going to have to market in order to put fans in the seats.  He is a future all-star and the really need to keep him around for the long term.

I don't want to look back 6 years from now and say "why did we get rid of that guy?" like we did with Billups.
"Coach you were 24 and 58 last year, why the playoff talk?"
"Well we made a couple of key trades . . . and we got The Funk."

I love Rondo. I kinda hope he isn't traded. However, I have faith that Ainge won't trade him unless it clearly improves the team's chances to win another championship with the Big Three. So, while it'll be sad if he goes, I'll be happy that the team gets better.

Doubt he's very available and doubt he leaves unless someone overpays for him.

Gay, Conley, and #2 might be it.  The rest of the trades are garbage and nothing but made up rumors.

If the right deal appears.

But that is unlikely.

More likely is this talk and reported rejected trade rumors around Rondo is all part of a plan to reduce his asking price on the next contract.

Rondo is being shopped but not for a trade. The Celtics simply want to make him look unwanted so they can maybe lower his price tag when it comes to resigning.

I guarantee they will use this against his agent. "Nobody seemed interested. Might as well take our guaranteed money!"

*EDIT* Which is exactly what wdleehi said above me. I should read more carefully but great minds think alike I suppose!

Ditto.

And at worst, it puts Ainge in the position of being able to say, "You're not worth in the market what you think you are - until you clean up your attitude and your game."
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."
