I see no problem with anyone doing anything fashion related to themselves. How boring this world would be with carbon copies of everyone walking around. Perk can do what he wants. He works hard and deserves the freedom to express himself anyway he sees fit as long as he does no harm to anyone.

I don't know, if Perk took this look I'd be concerned. ;)

I'm curious as to how you would brush your teeth with grills. Do you use jewelry polish or toothpaste?
they're removable, no?

I wonder if Perk will be smiling more..

Oh. I didn't know they were removable. I thought they were similar to dental implants. (i.e. diamond teeth/gold teeth) That would really suck if he had guard Dikembe back in the day with non-removable grills.

I'm no fan of grills, but whatever Perk wants to do with his appearance is fine by me.

I think the bigger issue there is I would question whether there was a sudden change in personality.

There are plenty of players I could see doing that, and it wouldn't be as much of a red flag (I think JJ Redick dresses that way all the time)...but if Perk did that, I would be afraid he just completely snapped.  But then again, perhaps he has just hidden his real personality that well...

Can't the title of the thread just be "I hate grills"?  This really has nothing to do with Perkins.

Grills are silly and dumb-looking.

But if Perkins keeps locking down Dwight Howard, he can play with a Big Mac sticking out of his grill for all I care.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

No no no, this is about Kendrick Perkins, not Glen Davis.  I think you are confused.

We're all missing the real irony here.  They use Perk as a celeb example in this article and he never smiles.   ;D

Setting himself up nicely for a post-NBA career as "Jaws" in future James Bond films.

Though the original Jaws (Richard Kiel) was a legitimate 7 footer. Perk will have to get some lifts.

  • Men lie, women lie, numbers don't!
Two things...

First off they ARE removable, doubt he would want to go to a wedding, or formal event wearing that.

And second, let's not forget where Perkins is from. Texas which is pretty much still part of the "Dirty south", and grills are a part of their culture. Really, Im not joking. So dont say hes stupid for doing it, say you dont like that look personally.

what I think, is that Grillz are played out. I think its a fad, and I thought was gone already. But....

Check it out. Paul Wall, who is from TEXAS, and is a rapper/Dentist makes these for celebs. Perkins should have went to him and got a hometown discount. lol

Stupid attitude. Stupid story.

his decision has no impact on anyone but himself.  why do u even care?  u have the choice to not do something like that bc u dont like it, the same way he has the choice to do it to himself bc he likes it.  neither you or he is right or wrong....its a difference of opinion.

get off your high horse and dont let other peoples decisions to do things to their own body impact you.

How is he even doing anything to his body? All they do is mold your teeth and then make a gold fitting. It is just something you put in and take out of your mouth like an invisiline.

I get the feeling all but 3 people in this thread think these are implants lol.

I think plenty of people realize what they are.  We just think they look ridiculous.  But to each his own.
