Both are expirering.

I think the best time to use them will be in season approaching the deadline.

What do you think a good return for those two could be?

A future draft pick?  Ramon Sessions in a sign and trade? Battier? Barbosa? Brandon Haywood? Ray Felton? I think the money on these guys isn't too far off.

The best I heard was from Roy:  to the Kings for Nocioni.

Battier would be great, but I don't see any reason that the Rockets would trade him.

I think that is right, but it depends on whether RA is traded or not.

Probably the cheapest way to upgrade the team is trade TA+Scal for Nocioni, resign BBD or sign Dice (whoever is cheaper) and then fill out the backup PG and C with whomever will take the vet min to play for the Celtics.  Not an ideal offseason, but on the other hand, not that unlikely given the financial constraints.
Celtics fan for life.

Honestly, I think their real value would be in a larger trade around the deadline.  Either with the C's making a big move, or with the C's helping to make a bigger trade happen with the expiring contracts.

I agree.  See what we can get now, but if we can't, then hold and deal later.

I'd trade TA for a protected 3rd round draft pick...

;D  You sure that isn't too much, PLAYA?  How about a player to be named later?

You drive a hard bargain, but if you throw in a 10 punch pass for nachos at the concession stand then its a deal!

i think if tony and scal are going to be packaged and rondo HAS to be traded then this is the deal that should go down...

MILWAUKEE GETS: rondo, allen, scalabrine, #57 pick

BOSTON GETS: #8 pick (Johnny Flynn), Mbah a Moute, Dan Gadzuric and #41 pick

WHY FOR THE BUCKS: The Bucks get a true point guard who has championship experience and can create for Redd, Jefferson, and Bogut. They also get Tony and Scals who are free agents in 2010 and can save the Bucks about $5m

WHY FOR BOSTON: The Celtics get a great prospect in Johnny Flynn who has a terrific basketball IQ and is a better shooter than rondo. (also a very consistent free throw shooter, 16-16 in the 6OT game against the huskies last season). He also has basically the same speed and is younger than Rondo. They also get Mbah a Moute who's defense is very consistent. He's a much better backup for Pierce than those mentioned in the past (Quinton Ross, Darius Miles, Bonzi Wells ect..) Along with those two comes Gadzuric who is by no means a stud but a much better backup C option than O'Bryant, Pollard, or Mikki.

potential 09-10 Roster:

Flynn/CJ Watson
Allen/House
Pierce/Mbah a Moute/ Walker
Garnett/Powe/Cunningham
Perkins/Andersen

I agree completely. Also depending on how the rest of this summer goes, the C's may just need the cap relief by letting those guys expire in a year. Anyway, to early to tell what will happen. First lets see where we are after the FA flood gates open in a couple weeks.
