Some dumb team you are the G.M. of (oops, you are dumb) has just traded away their big 3 in their primes for ten draft picks.  Pick ten players from this year's draft.  Take 2 from the top 5.  2 from the rest of lottery.  3 from the rest of the first round.  And 3 from the second round.
Feel free to pick 7 PG's as basically this is about your favorite players and not building a team from them.

Here are my picks:

Griffin
Rubio
Tyreke Evans
D. Blair
Omri Casspi
Terrence Williams
Wayne Ellington
Jonas Jerebko
Rodrigue Beabois
Garret Siler

2017 NBA champs no doubt.

This is kind of a fun idea, although with this draft being a fairly weak one...its clearly not a possible championship team.

For sake of argument, look at the 2000 draft, try picking out 10 players from that draft, as it would probably be about the same time frame for that class to mature for this year, and they are clearly not a championship team let alone even a playoff team.  And thats without even following the rules...Just choose 10 guys, its actually depressing.

Seriously though, look at your team, there are no players over 6'9...You need to grab Thabeet.

Top 5
Griffin
Thabeet

Lottery
Tyreke Evans
Brandon Jennings

First Round
BJ Mullens
Jeff Teague
Sam Young

Second
Patrick Mills
Daunte Cunningham
Dionte Christmas

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Top 5:
Blake Griffin
Hasheem Thabeet

Rest of presumed lottery:
James Johnson
Johhny Flynn

Rest of First Round:
Chase Budinger
Earl Clark
Tyler hansburough

3 from Second Round
Jodie Meeks
Patrick Mills
Jeff Pendergraph

I approached this from building a team, rather than just picking my guys.

Works out so it would look like:

Johnny Flynn
Chase Budinger
James Johnson
Blake Griffin
Hasheem Thabeet

Bench in order of rotation
Earl Clark (3/4)
Tyler Hansburough (4/5)
Patrick Mills (1)
Jodie Meeks (2)
Jeff P (4/5)

Balanced team that relies on a combination of talent and 'vet' experience. I would've liked to avoid taking both Thabeet and 'Psycho T', but you need Thabeet as he's the only hope of defense any center has in this draft, and you need psycho T because he can handle any role you give him. James Johnson and Earl Clark give me a lot of versatility, with both players being able to play the 3 and 4, and both players being dangerous scores, but neither being go to guys.

I drafted Chase Budinger, because Im not sold anyone outside of the top 7 can be a go to scorer from the two. I'd rather have a guy like Brent Barry than a guy that could be Gerald Green.

Johnny Flynn I'm just impressed with as a floor general, period.

Patrick Mills I think will be one of the steals in the draft, Jodie Meeks...well I just hope he can spot fill some minutes at my weakest position.

Well he is legit 7 feet.  Hes an athletic monster.  The problem is he is a project, but given that we have 8 years to develop them, i think hopefully he could get better and become a viable player.

I mean its really tough having a backup center being 6'8...

I picked Cunningham as a banger for that reason as well.

Let me help you out though, Ive been seeing James Johnson being mentioned as falling out of the lottery.  Take that and draft somebody else in the lottery, stick him in your rest of the 1st section ;D

Mills in the second is a steal.

Oh my goodness my team is going to spank yours in the 2017 finals :)

We've got Griffin and Tyreke Evans washing each other out.  But in 2017 my 305 pound Garret Siler is going to move Thabeet out of the paint like a rag doll.  My other big Blair will be a rebound force as well.  Meanwhile Rubio carves up your team with Evans and Beaubois backing up the point.  Then I've got a slew of big wings.  Wiley Ducks stomp Shiggins  ______in 6 games.

Now to take on this other competitor whose just arrived over the horizon.

Thabeet
Harden

Lottery

Flynn
Blair

1st Round

Sam Young
Earl Clark
Marcus Thornton

2nd Round

Lester Hudson
Ahmad Nivins
Derrick Brown

Pg: Flynn, Thornton, Hudson
SG: Harden, Hudson
SF: Sam Young, Earl Clark
PF: Blair, Derrick Brown
C: Thabeet, Nivins

I just think Thabeet is more of a sure thing in the NBA. Griffin's game isn't dynamic enough for my liking. Nivins is a guy out of St. Joe's that people aren't talking about a lot, but he is pretty talented for a big guy. Lester Hudson is a scoring machine. He can get his shot off against anyone. Harden looks like a young Pierce, but with 3 fewer inches. I don't know if his head is on straight.

Well I kind of like this team due to the Budinger, Clark, Hansbrough trio.....Wiley Ducks in 7 games with 7 overtimes.

Rubio
Tyreke Evans
Casspi
Blair
Griffin

Beaubois
Ellington
Jerebko
Terence Williams
Siler

Gas, yea right...Have fun with your 6'5 power forward...No backup PG and only big man is a late 2nd round stiff?

Patrick O'Bryant is that you??????? After like 400 3AM dollar menu items?

Jeff Teague and Brandon Jennings take turns abusing slow Rubio.  I saw some clips of Beaubois play, hes brutal.  Patrick Mills carves him up like no ones business.  I dont see how my squad doesnt sweep yours?

mistake:  my backup PF is Jerebko and backup SF is T. Williams.  Jerebko does fine next to Siler, who looks like Perk when I get done with him!!!!

I'm going with NBAdraft.net's projections, because I like them better.

My team:

Top five - Blake Griffin, Ricky Rubio

Lottery - Jordan Hill, Tyreke Evans

First round - Chase Budinger, BJ Mullens, Austin Daye

Second round - Victor Claver, Patrick Mills, Marcus Thornton

That was a tough call there.  I love watching Flynn but I just think Jennings will bulk up some more and is already taller than Flynn and I think his ceiling is a bit higher.

Based off of NBAdraft.net mock.

Top 5:

Griffin, Thabeet

Lotto:

Jeff Teague , DeMar DeRozen

1st Round:

Buddinger, Holiday, Casspi

 2nd Round:

Jeff Adrien, Wesley Matthews, Jeff Pendergraph

C: Thabeet/ Pendergraph
PF: Griffin/ Adrien
SF: Buddinger/ Casspi/ Matthews
SG: Derozan/ Matthews/ Holiday
PG: Teague/ Holiday

By the way, if NBAdraft.net's mock holds up the spurs are pilfering rotation players in the second round.
