He is no longer an effective starter for an NBA level team. His game relies too much on quickness and freelancing to be effective now that he is no longer quicker than everyone else on the court.
He didn't handle AI Rip or stuckey well. Prince played horrible also so did Sheed so it wasn't AI's fault

Oh there is plenty of blame to go around for the Detroit debacle. But to say AI shouldn't share a large portion of it is silly.
