I've seen his name mentioned in two places now:

http://www2.nesn.com/boston-celtics/2009/06/09/cop-a-steal-celtics-hope-to-bolster-depth-with-no-58-pick/?cb

http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/basketball/other_nba/view/2009_06_07_Danny_Ainge_targets_new_talent/

What do you guys think of Goran Suton?
I remember watching him during the tourney. He's a decent three point shooting big man. He averaged 10 points, 8 boards, and shot almost 44% from the college three.

I think Suton has the potential to play like Hedo Turkoglu and offer his team a combination of distributing, outside scoring and overall heady play.  Can't say he'd be anywhere as good, that's just how I see Suton's strengths.

I think he'd be a good choice for a late second round pick.

That the author of the first article kept on mentioning that Ainge drafted Pierce kind of made me dismiss the whole article. Did Ainge also draft Reggie?

"Cop a Steal" is some pretty racy language by NESN. On an unrelated note Heidi was a good hire in my book.

i agree. could be a good role player ala Songaila but with better shooting.

Sure, why not?  I think the chances of whoever is picked there making the team are incredibly slim, but he sounds like an interesting option.

Its the 58th pick, there is absolutely nothing to lose.  Guy has size, good range, decent intangible skills, why not?  Even if he makes the team, we'll sign him for peanuts.

I'd rather have Lester Hudson, Dionte Christmas, Jack McClinton or Greivis Vasquez.  I'd especially rather have Lester Hudson, I'd like to see what he can do at the next level.

At 58 one's options tend to be quite limited.

True, but those are guys who are supposed to be in the 50s in the draft, and I do expect to see one or two of them there at 58.

Pick Brockman or Siler at 58 and stop taking crap in the paint.

I highly doubt the guy at 58 will ever see time on the floor in a Celtics uniform, so I don't really care who we pick

I love Brockman but he's only 6'7 and an undersized powerforward is the last thing we need.  Sutton would be a decent pick, but again the odds of pick #58 contributing anything is very small.

If there's any chance Tyrese Rice doesn't get drafted by the 58th pick, I say we take him.

Maybe he'll never play but...he's from BC.  Gotta pull for him.
