"star18 is on the side of the 'not a trip' what does that say?" That's an easy one.  I watch basketball not Tony Kornheiser.

I have you beat there too I never watch those shows.

Jameer Nelson their best point guard has been out half the season, not exactly injury free.

I'm shocked the magic are winning. makes me feel better about the celts' effort. i think the magic may just be better than i expected - if playoffs are about matchups this team is a nightmare with size and shooting at the 2,3,4 combined with a monster inside and a way better than expected run from alston. houston gave him up for what again?

It makes me feel better about the Celts effort, too.  The Celts took the Magic to 7 games, and right now it looks very likely that this series will end in 5 or 6 games in favor of the Magic.  The Celtics will likely be able to say they gave the Eastern Conference Champions a harder fought series than the "unstoppable" Cavs.

The Magic stayed healthy in a year not many teams were competing.

They lost their all-star point guard for the season.

So when he trips forward right into Pietrus and gets a call to let the Cavs tie the game with .5 seconds left, you don't think that was enough?

I love tivo.

Tripping is not allowed. Definitely a blocking foul on Pietrus.
Tripping over your own feet, on the other hand, is not a blocking foul.

Nothing better than seeing LeBron trying to get himself 3 foul shots with a 2-foot flop, and not getting the call. The madness had to stop somewhere.

Hey Koz, congrats on the 100 TPs!
Thanks :)

Then watch basketball.  Last play of the game that's not a foul, just like poslimpos said.

This is a valid point.  Think how good the Magic would be with Nelson.  They are already clearly a very good team.

I think people really slept on the Magic through most of the playoffs and are just getting the news now: the Magic are contenders, and all indications point to them being even better in the future.

So when LeBron simply falls forward into Pietrus, it's a blocking foul?

Sorry, but Pietrus put his foot right in front of Lebrons and when Lebron stepped forward, it was just like he caught the top of a step. It was accidental as Pietrus was guarding him so close and moving backwards, but that's a trip.

None of the replay angles were any good, only tivo and slo-mo convinced me.

They lost their all-star point guard for the season.

All he did was jack threes anyway.

And they reloaded with the Skip trade.

Maybe - and that's a big maybe.  I'll say again:

With no time flat left on the clock and potential game-tieing free throws to come, you don't call anything but a clear cut foul, and that was nowhere close to a clear cut foul.

You admitted it yourself, only tivo and slow-mo convinced you that it may have been a blocking foul.  That's not clear enough.

Not a trip sorry, no foul call, should be a 4-0 broom sweep

I agree, Nelson was darned good at executing the 3pt plan.  But Alston has really surprised me with his play, and have to say that I think Johnson is a heck of a backup.  He had some nice plays tonight.

He shot over 50% from the field this season (including 45.3% from 3PT) and averaged 16.7 points and 5.4 assists, while making the all-star team.  He certainly did more than "jack threes".
