Come on now, we traded Montross and the pick that became Samaki Walker (#9), for the picks that became Antoine (#6) and Ron Mercer (#6 the next year).  Talk about coming out the right end of a deal.

And also that #6 pick that got Ron Mercer, lets not forget how much Duncan excitement that generated for us.  There was Boston's ping pong balls which had the best odds of #1, then add to that Dallas's too!  It just increases our already best odds of landing Duncan even more.  We can't lose! And we could even end up with both the #1 and #2 pick and then draft Duncan and Van Horn!  We'll have a front line of Duncan, Walker, and Van Horn, we'll be set for the next decade!  Plus we have Pitino as our coach, we'll definitely have at least 5 more championships before it's all over.

Oh ya good times.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Who you got?

I am going to have to go with the first pick of the century Jerome Moiso with the 11th pick in the first round.

Moiso was bad, but so was that draft.  Granted some people developed into decent-really good players in time (eddie and hedo), but it was probably the worst draft in its totality, so picking Moiso didnt cause the c's to miss out on any immediately great players, unlike 2001.

Take your pick, Kedrick at 10 or Forte at 21. Kedrick over Troy Murphy and Richard Jefferson, and both over Gerald Wallace, Tony Parker, Agent Zero, Okur, and Scal. Well at least Scal had a better career than both.

I'd go with Kedrick as the worst ever because
           a) he was a bust and we missed out on all the aforementioned good players
           b) we exercised our option to take Denver's pick, which if we waited one year would have been in the Melo-Wade category
           c) we insisted on PHO taking Joe Johnson over Kedrick in the Rodney Rodgers and Tony Delk trade.

gross

TP... thats why I have to pick Kedrick too... man those were DARK times in Celtics history.

Ah yes, the Paul Ga$ton days. With his cheapskate ways (the very SHREEWWWWDDD businessman), the Celtics had no hope of competing and as a result became a laughing stock around the league. We spent years trying to talk up Antione Walker well trying to trade him for something good.

The 2002 playoffs brought us some joy and allowed Jim O'Brien to have a coaching career. But once those Antione threes stopped falling, it was back to the drawing board for Ainge and Wyc.
Wins are few, times are hard. Here is your bleeping St Patricks Day Card.

2004 could have been a nightmare if it wasn't for Seattle stepping up and grabbing Swift with the 12th pick. I read somewhere Danny was still trying to trade for Swift even after he had Jefferson.

04 might have been a top 5 best draft, with picking up West and Allen, both somewhat solid roll players.

Kedrick because of all the negative impact and bad reasoning.

The team already had Paul Pierce, so why draft two rookie swingmen? The Celts promised to draft KB so he wouldnt work out (the old hidden gem theory) and then JJ falls to them so they end up with both. Not rolling the pick over to the next year and getting one of Nene, Amare, Tayshaun, Kristic, or Boozer. Then finally not trading Brown to Phoenix.

UGH.

With regards to worst Celtic employee ever, anyone remember John Y Brown fron the 70s?  Traded 3 first round picks for an aging Bob McAdoo?
