I don't really watch too much College Ball, but right around tourny time I get hooked. I was extremely impressed with UNC throughout this tournament. They beat every team they played with ease (kind of like the UCONN women all season long). It's a given that Ty Lawson is a first rounder. He's a great point gaurd with probably the most potential to have a great NBA career. Tyler Hansborough (sp?) is probably a late first to second rounder, but his ceiling isn't that high, according to most scouts. But I never hear anyone talk about Ellington's NBA potential... Where will he be picked, if he decides to enter? One mock draft showed him at 29, right around where we would have picked had we still had ours. Would you take him on the celts, and is this a guy Danny might want to make a trade for.

I'm curious about this because I would really like to see him in green sometime soon.

I dont see any of these UNC players as making an NBA impact.  Tyler Hansbrough to me, is pretty much Leon Powe with a slightly better jumper and less athleticism and strength.

Lawson is basically a worse Ray Felton, who by the way I do not like much as a player.

Ellington is a poor man's McCants, who does little to nothing as well.

Interestingly enough I think Danny Green might have a chance at being the best NBA player of the bunch, simply because he can play wing defense, which is something everybody is looking for.

This is a great college team, but in terms of NBA prospects, I feel that they will be bench players at best.

The only player on this team who will potentially become a star is Ed Davis.

Ed Davis is definitely the best prospect due to his NBA body, however don't overlook Lawson. He is small, but I see him as a very similar player to Jameer Nelson of the Magic. He won't be an all-star, but should be a very good PG in this league. He has great ball-handling ability and the knack to draw defenders and get the pass off in traffic.

Ellington is a very good shooter, but I see him as a backup and at best a starting 2 on a bad team. He could surprise though.

Hansborough is a GREAT college ball player and will be at best a journeyman backup. He won't be as succesful in the NBA as Powe or BBD. He'll bounce around though like a Mark Madsen. Great intensity. Great guy. No hops at all...

Danny Green doesn't impress me at all.

I think Lawson will be a pretty good player. He's quick, handles the ball, and can shoot. There will be a spot for him on a lot of teams.

Hansborough could end up having an advantage over Madsen if he starts taking that 18 foot jump shot more often. However he'll be a disaster trying to rebound in the NBA. That alone will relegate him to a journeyman.

I thought for a long time that Danny Green would be the best pro on this team.  He's the best all-around player on the team - he has range and rebounds well for a swingman, and plays the best D of anyone on the current squad (Ginyard is better but was hurt all year).  I see him winding up as a glue guy somewhere, with a chance to be a starter someday.

Now I think it'll be Lawson, and maybe Ellington 2nd (Davis is still TBD though he looks very promising).  I agree with EJ on the Jameer Nelson thing, except I think Lawson will eventually be every bit as good as he is.  He's strong, fast, and clutch - all he really lacks is height.

And I get the Hansborough-Madsen comparison, but Hansborough is and will continue to be a much better player than Madsen.  The guy he always reminded me of in college was Antawn Jamison, and I think his ceiling is a much less athletic, scrappier version of him.  If he develops the jumpshot and works as hard in the NBA as he did in college, there'll be a spot for him somewhere.

Lawson - should develop into a starter if he continues to trend upward as he has the past 5 years - reads the court well, improving jump shooter, NBA speed...great pick-up for any team lacking a true floor leader.

Ed Davis - young, but looks to be a stud in the making. Needs to develop face-up game/FT shooting, but is a threat on the box and good rebounders.

Hansborough- most underrated player in terms of pro potential. No, he will likely not be a star, but he has all the classic signs of a quality rotation big man - can hit the face up from 15-17, can rebound, and makes off-ball hustle plays...I have no doubt that his defense will develop substantially as his role on a team is defined - has WAY more skill than Mark Madsen - that comparison is an insult. Much more Udonis Haslem...

Ellington - 3 point specialist best case scenario - no handles, no explosiveness, no length/height - he is a star in Europe maybe, but isn't going to be a major player in the NBA, rotation or otherwise.

Green - should become a 3 point shooter/defender in the Raja Bell mode - don't know if he has the same drive to continue to improve, but he's got all the physical tools and has an established skill-set to instantly have an NBA role.

From what I've seen I believe that Danny and Ty will be the best NBA players. Ty has developed from a back up point to a good starter over the course of this year. Wayne however, I don't see developing into anything worth a 1st round pick. He is purely a shooter. We saw this a couple of years ago in JJ Redick who has taken a couple of years to develop into a serviceable back up. Wayne is not the shooter JJ is, doesn't provide any defense and would be a good 2nd round pick. Of course with their championship, they are all going to get drafted a lot higher than should be.
