How would Celtics nation feel about Marbury requesting permission to wear #3?

There's absolutely no way he is granted permission if he attempted to do that. 

Personally, I don't think that'd be the right way to start things off with your new organization.  Hopefully, he's not that dumb (ummm....forget that last part.   ;) )

I'd welcome Marbury, but he's not getting DJ's number.

I think he should go for #8 and adjust his tattoo.

I will have a bad feeling about his tenure here is it's reported that he asks for that #.  But I'm hopeful he won't.  New Jersey retired Drazen Petrovic's #3, and Marbury wore #33.  Granted, this was before "Starbury", but just if he even asks, it would show to me that he still doesn't get it.  He should be coming for one reason, and one reason only.  To help this team win a championship.  Nothing else matters.  If the #3 means that much to him, he can wear his high school jersey underneath.

The logo is what it is... It's a star inside the #3. an eight would solve the # issue but not the star

The #3 looks like half a star.  Maybe he can have the tatoo finished to make a whole star as in "Starbury"?

Under no way shape or form should anybodies number be unretired for another player. Shaq wears 32 but took 34 in LA as he knew he couldn't wear Magic's #. Starbury has no shot at wearing DJ's #, especially after his untimley death 2 years ago.


On a side not I am still ill that Ohio State unretired Archie Griffins # to give to Juice Head Katzenmoyer.
