Michael Jordan

So, what would it take to sign MJ for a shot at a seventh title?  ;D

Hey, if we really considered Reggie Miller...

That would create a circus...but it would be very fun.

Laimbeer didn't dominate when in the NBA...he's not gonna dominate in the retired league.

I still say Reggie has the legs, 'youthful exhuberance' and 'fresh' skill nessecary. Magic is just too old. Jordan...well he will always be Jordan but he's 46, 6 years removed from active duty..and I just don't think he's got the juice to match Reginald.

I think Reggie is easily the most explosive retired guy, Jordan being Jordan or no. Jordan is gassed at halftime.

I was going to say Stockton at point, but went with Magic.. as far the above statement, give Jordan just weeks to get in game shape (give all of them some time, obviously) and he would own the league. He was an all-star at 40 playing against the best of the best, you think he wouldn't dominate a league of retired guys? Come on.

But the OP stressed "in their current shape". There's no way guys like Jordan, Magic or Bird could be a factor, basketball it's still an athletic sport. Some obvious names are Allan Houston (was at the Knicks training camp a couple of months ago) and Shawn Kemp.

Thats a good point. He's probably going door to door to make ends meet. You know, cuz of his family and all.

You're lumping Jordan in the same current category as Bird and Magic? Nobody in their right mind would pick Bird for this - and Magic has been fat for years. He could probably still pass a bit, and I know he does (or in recent years) play some pickup ball.. but you're comparing those two guys to someone who was an all-star five years ago.

This is a video of Jordan from this past summer - yeah, it's against teenagers, but he doesn't look bad:

Haha, true... but do what you want, bet against Jordan. That extra weight wouldn't affect his post game very much - he can still knock down jumpshots, as evidenced in the video, and he can even still dunk a little bit. I think his competitiveness would make up for any added weight gain when playing in a game against other retired greats.
