  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Who is the MVP for the NBA retired players league? Whats the all-RPNBA team?

Rules: Player is in current physical condition, and must not be in the NBA now, and has to have hinted at retirement (aka Not Antoine)

My picks:

MVP: Reggie Miller
All R-NBA Team:
Darrell Armstrong
Reggie
Keith Van Horn
PJ Brown
Alonzo Morning

I think there should be a team made up of players like Allen Houston and Byron Russell that still WANT to play in the NBA, but no one wants them.  Let them play in the D-League, see how their legs hold out against the 22 year olds.

I think Reggie steals Dan's thunder (HA!), and Zo kills the admiral

Hmm...  I think I'd take a team of:

Hakeem Olajuwon
David Robinson
Scottie Pippen
Michael Jordan
Magic Johnson

... over just about any other team you can throw out there.  They wouldn't hold up over 82 games, but I bet they could win 4 out of 7 over other groups of retirees.

Haha.  I'd take 400 pound Magic over Darrell Armstrong.  He'd just post him up all day.

  • Yup
Chris Webber?

I bet John Stockton is still in pretty decent shape.

Jay Williams, Jayson William or Jason Williams for that matter.

Dana Barros?
Yup

I think Reggie is easily the most explosive retired guy, Jordan being Jordan or no. Jordan is gassed at halftime.

C-Webb is a good choice, so is Payton. I'd say Payton over Armstrong and C-Webb over PJ Brown

It would be the perfect league for Shaq.  He would dominate.

I was going to say Stockton at point, but went with Magic.. as far the above statement, give Jordan just weeks to get in game shape (give all of them some time, obviously) and he would own the league. He was an all-star at 40 playing against the best of the best, you think he wouldn't dominate a league of retired guys? Come on.

Michael Jordan

So, what would it take to sign MJ for a shot at a seventh title?  ;D

Hey, if we really considered Reggie Miller...
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.
