This trade works in the trade machine first off, and with the clippers struggling with a terrible record & alot money going out in older contracts. The clippers would look to get younger with premier young studs. This trade also I believe wins Boston #18 this year & maybe net them #19 next before the run ends. Ultimately maximizing the K.G. & Pierce era while letting Pierce reunite & play with one of his childhood buddies.

Boston Trades:

Center        : Kendrick Perkins
Point Guard   : Rajon Rondo
Shooting Guard: Ray Allen
Shooting Guard: J.R. Giddens
Small Forward : Bill Walker (Top 5 Lottery Talent)

Boston Receives:

Center        : Marcus Camby
Point Guard   : Baron Davis
Shooting Guard: Eric Gordon
Small Forward : Ricky Davis
A conditonal 1st rounder or De'Andre Jordan, if L.A. decides no Jordan or 1st rounder we get to keep Bill Walker.

Boston's new lineup

C : Marcus Camby
PF: Kevin Garnett
SF: Paul Pierce
SG: Eric Gordon
PG: Baron Davis
Sixth Man: Ricky Davis

Bench:

Glen Davis
Leon Powe
T. Allen
Eddie House
Patrick O'Bryant
Brian Scalabrine
Gabe Pruitt
Sam Cassell

L.A. new lineup:

C : Kendrick Perkins
PF: Zach Randolph
SF: Al Thorton
SG: Ray Allen
PG: Rajon Rondo
Sixth Man: Chris Kaman

Bench:

Bill Walker
J.R. Giddens
DeAndre Jordan
Mike Taylor
Mardy Collins
Brian Skinner
Steve Novak

Although it hurts our physical defense slightly with Perk being out, our shot blocking & rebounding improves with Camby. While Ricky Davis can solidify our bench scoring with a very good 2nd unit go to guy. So I think this is a good trade for Boston Celtics! Tell me what you guys think.

NO WAY!!!

This team is more than capable of getting number 18, 19 & maybe even 20 (If we're lucky)

It's unbelievable how after we lose a few games suddenly it's time to trade off all our players.

Have some faith.

Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Garnett & Perkins are our boys and they're staying in Boston.

Trading Perk, Rondo AND Ray? Really? I mean, granted, I can't weigh up this trade totally but woah.

I see where the OP is going - upgrade the point, upgrade the center, solidify the bench and get a young replacement for Ray.

Here is the problem; most people on this blog would not trade Rondo for Baron or Perkins for Camby straight up. So we are left with Ray Allen for Eric Gordon, Ricky Davis and a #1. You might convince me to pull the trigger on this, but I do not think the Clips are interested:

BOS: Rondo, Allen, Scalabrine, Allen, House
LAC: Baron, Kaman, Gordon, Thornton

Step away from 2k9...

The better question is, where does this rank in terms of "all-time worst" trade proposals in CB history? I'd say top 5 easy... :o

The original trade: no way.  You're moving 3 starters and the 2 rookies with potential to contribute something next year while getting back starters from another team that I'd be hardpressed to consider equal or better than what we have already.  You don't upgrade the bench, which is the current weakspot, other than to add a defensively-deficient gunner.  Why would this even be considered?

The second trade where Ray, Rondo and the 3 upgradeable bench players are moved-->something to think about.  We get back a different starting backcourt that's better offensively (combined) but worse defensively (combined).  Baron has an injury history too.  We definitely upgrade the bench in terms of a legit center (could push Perk for starting time) and a good young scoring 3 off the bench.  Since this trade costs us our backup 2's, Thornton would have to play that spot until Giddens/Walker are ready.  This would also free up a roster spot.  We also lose a little defensively off the bench.
Not sold on this since it would totally disrupt the team and probably not get the ring this year.  Next year could be a different story but still not sold on it.

It's usually a good idea for championship teams to trade three starters, especially when they're getting back older, more injury prone players with chemistry issues in return.

Lets just throw  Pierce and KG in while we're at it and become the Boston clippers, the worst, most laughable franchise in sports

Well, the Celts and Clippers (Braves) did swap franchises once.  Let's do it again!

Yeah, putting Rondo in any trade here isn't going to get you much praise.  People are open to trading Ray Allen due to his contract, but don't expect anyone to want to trade Rondo.
do it
