Well, it's not a triple double anymore.  The NBA took away one of his rebounds, leaving him with nine.

If they're going to review rebounds, then they should review assists.  By definition, a player should only be credited with an assist if the recipient scores without dribbling the ball.  This rule NEVER applies when statisticians record them.

Also, by the league's reasoning, Ben Wallace should have another 4 rebounds added to his line on that game for all the balls he back-tapped to Wally.

Kinda weird they did this.

Not to nit pick, but that's not the current NBA rule.  Rather, it's "An assist is credited to the player tossing the last pass leading directly to a field goal, only if the player scoring the goal responds by demonstrating immediate reaction toward the basket."  According to the league, a player is allowed to dribble, so long as he takes immediate action towards the hoop.

I didn't think the dribble was in the rule definition - but I can't find a source. Do you have a link? Usually they give the player ONE dribble, but anything more than negates the assist.  Regardless of that, the assist is still incorrectly scored all the time.

This move will only motivate the Cavs even more.  Lets see, Mo was shunned and Lebron gets history taken away (only the 3rd guy ever to have a triple double with more than 50 points).  I hope they take it out on the Lakers tomorrow
