Number one story on NBA.com should be, "Can LeCrabDribble be so selfish and stupid as to even have Kobe the Rapist's record on his mind when his team is going neck and neck with the defending champs for home court advantage throughout the playoffs?"
Well, LeCrabDribble did more than just try to match some point total.  He just rolled up Kobe's stat line and smoked it (with Michael Phelps of course...it's G).

most points scored in a triple double since the merger, apparently.

None of the greats have had a triple double and scored 50 points.  That's just ridiculous.

He definitely one-upped Kobe, imo.

MSG said the last one to do it was Kareem.  Their stats might have been off though.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

Well ESPN showed a stat that mentioned "since the merger" which was in 1976-77, the highest points in a triple double actually was Larry Bird with 49.   Nobody has cracked 50 until LeBron.

And you're right... in 1975 Kareem had a triple double with 50.

Supposedly 52 in a triple double is the 2nd most in NBA history behind Wilt in 1968 who had 53.  Elgin Baylor also had a 52 point triple double in 1961.

Very impressive.

Seriously how bad does New York's defense have to be to allow back-to-back historical nights.   On Friday we should just try to score 200 points on them.

The real story,  "How awful is the Knicks Defense."

Follow up question, guess who goes into NY next?

The Boston Celtics.  ;)

Pierce for 50!!!

Pierce AND Allen for 50!

KG and Rondo both get triple doubles.

Nah Scal for 50 off the bench, breaking the long standing NBA record for "most points scored with a concussion."

That stat line for LeBron is ridiculous, and it is definitely a better line than Kobe's on Monday.  But for those of you saying it was because he played "team" basketball, I always thought "team" basketball was played on both ends of the court.  Seemed to me like LeBron was saving his energy for one side of the court while Al Harrington torched him on the other end, which is why the Knicks were in the game in the first place.

The celtics need to avoid the embarrasment of losing there on Friday

I agree, and if Pierce doesn't try to get caught up in all the ESPN hype of how much will he score (which I don't think he will), then the Celtics should have no trouble avoiding such an embarrasment.  All you have to do to crush the Knicks is play defense, and take what their defense will give you (which is always a lot).

There hasn't been much to laugh at in the last 24hrs.,but i had to laugh when i just heard on ESPN,the NBA league office stripped Lebron of his triple double in NY the other night. After they reviewed the game,1 of Lebron's rebounds was rewarded to Ben Wallace. They said Lebron was given a rebound Wallace actually grabbed.LOL

That is funny. And just in time for Sunday's game to fire him up. I'm predicting a shootout  ;D

Along with 20 rebounds and 30 assists? Now, that would be the best stat line ever.
