He has 18 pts in the first quarter so he's on pace for 72.

Certainly seems like he's trying.  20points in the first quarter on 10 shots, though he does already have 5reb and 2 assists.  (2 out of 3 total assists for his team, btw-isn't there also some stat that says the Cavs are better when LeBron has more assists or something?)

I really don't see what the big deal about Kobe scoring 60+pts.on teams that aren'tknown for playing much defense. If and when he scores 60 on a top team this season such as the Celtics,Cavs,Spurs and other defensive minded teams then it will be a big accomplishment in my eyes.

I really hope not.  I don't want there to be a Kobe-LeBron rivalry anymore than there already is.

The biggest problem with the NBA is that it has become a "superstars" league -- too much showboating and me-first and kid-glove treatment of the stars by the refs (traveling for LeBron or DWade means more than 7 steps, for the Gabe Pruitts of the world it means more than 2 steps; and heaven help you if you look funny at LeBron: TECHNICAL!).

The beauty of teams like the Celtics, Pistons (prior to AI) and Spurs is that they are TEAMs, not individual players searching for individual glory (Kobe's whole quest for another championship is all about showing the "he can do it without Shaq", not about "helping the team to win").
Celtics fan for life.

40-10-9   10 to go?

this is 100 times better than kobes.

  • Let's Go Celtics
I got to watch both.  Tonight LeBron was 5 times better than Kobe was on Monday.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."
