according to realgm, toronto and dal have been discussing a deal headlining josh howard for bargnani.
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/56449/20090107/josh_howard_to_toronto/

tinkered on the trade checker and came up with this

dallas out: howard and antoine wright
in: bargnani, a. parker and t. allen

toronto out: bargnani and a. parker  and j. moon
in: howard and antoine wright

boston out t. allen
in: j. moon.

we then find away to pull joe smith out of OKC
and end up with a brand new bench...

rondo, house, pruit
r. allen, house...
pierce, moon
KG, j. smith
perk, powe

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I dunno how much I like J Moon better than T Allen..They just do different things.

I think we bring up JR Giddens and Bill Walker and we have a new bench, and all that will cost us is Scalabrine and POB in street clothes.

Agreed, Walker and Giddens could really bring some enthusiasm to the bench.

i don't like this for the C's.  i don't like J. Moon much more than Tony.  The only upside is he is a 3/4. And could play that Poseyesque role off the bench except he doesn't stretch the floor.

i also do not like the idea of Walker or Giddens, i do not think this team wins with more youth.  they need veteran presences that know how to get it done.

lastly, why in the world does Dallas want another soft, outside shooting Euro foward (besides Josh Howard being foolish).

moon is a long athletic 3 who hustles and plays lockdown D,
he can guard bigger 3's and athletic 4's. something t. allen cannot effectively do. 20 quality minutes a night from moon could do a lot to keep pierce and KG fresh and ready for the playoff push.

I would rather have TA!!Bottom line!

Now if we could get Parker or Barnagni, that would be a different story

I like it for Boston.

Moon can play SF while Pierce  slides over to SG or Pruitt  and House as the backcourt.

Why would Cuban trade one of his fellow malcontent criminals he so covets for two model citizens?  I'm sure he'd be much more interested if you found a way to include O'Neal in the trade.  He'd fit in much better.

seriously?

I'd rather have moon, for the reasons listed.

I like the deal for Boston.

It's probably a wash in talent (maybe the edge even goes to Tony), but we need Moons size, and length. I don't know if He can defend power forwards, but he can definitely defend the 2/3 positions. Moon probably can't slash like Tony, but he can't be as dumber a player and that's a plus.

i have no idea why dallas would want bargnani.
i made the trade suggestion based on a realgm blurb claiming that dallas and toronto have had talks conserning these players.

however if the trade idea were to gain momentum i would hope that the c's could finagle moon from toronto in the process.

I think the Josh Howard thing is coming about because they are trying to find him a place where he will respect the national anthem of the country in which he plays(or else this is our way of deporting him).  :o
