I have something better & im serious when I say this. Trade Tony Allen for Gerald Green straight up & hope Dallas goes for it! I m done with Tony "Aim his shot" Allen. When he cant drop his head & get to the basket, he is a HIGHSCHOOL player at best. He doesnt even finish at the rim often anymore & its time to look elsewhere. Gerald could give us more right now! He actually gave us more when he was here to tell the truth. Or just bring Walker & Giddens up & see what they can do with the minutes because they seem to be playing pretty good statistically down in the D-League. Tony is so bad right now in my eyes, I would even take Adam Morrison or JJ Redick straight up for him!

Geez, that's not much of a choice. Do we have to have either one? But honestly, I would hate to have to watch GG again. TA at least gives you something, sometimes.

Agreed.  I think Tony is a smarter ball player than GG, if that can be believed.  Can we pick someone else to trade him for?

At least Gerald keeps flashing potential, while I believe Tony has dashed his!

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I'll pass on GG, but I did think about it.

No thank you.  I know the popular thing to do right now is to rag on Tony.  I'm not exactly sure why.  Granted, he hasn't played great this year, but he also hasn't played much different during the past 6 games as he did during our 19 game winning streak.

He may never get back to being the slasher he was before his injuries, and he may never develop a consistent jump shot.  But the guy can play defense, and after Pierce and Leon, he's he the best on the team at getting to the line.

I think sometimes we ignore the flaws of opposing players (or in this case forget the flaws of former Celtics) and harp on the flaws of our own players.

Tony may not be the ideal 6th man for this team right now, but he's much more beneficial to the team than Gerald Green would be.

I am not going to blame Gerald for being young with us because we expected far to much from a Highschool forward with no college experience, but I have actually watched him since he was acquired by the Mavs & in Summer Leagues, and I say he could help us ALOT more than Tony could being that he has a few more skills like shooting a open jumper & he can drive & he can ebound a little better than Tony can. Nothing Major for Gerald, but he is not the same 20yr. old he was a celtic, he has improved a whole lot. He is just playing behind stud forwards in Dallas. Dirk, Howard, Stackhouse, etc. We go Pierce then free playing time!

I can't argue with this.  But I think there are many of us who thought he was terrible in the 19 game winning streak as well, with a couple mediocre games thrown in.

No, because of defense. if GG could play a lick of D, I'd say yes.

I would do it if for no other reason than Green was at least entertaining to atch. Allen is painful at best.

Gerald was enjoyable good or bad! We liked seeing him on the court.

I'd honestly rather have Jeff Clark suit up and go out there than GMoney.
God bless and good night!
