Let me be clear, I am not actually accusing James of throwing up gang signs anymore than I thought Pierce was last year...but watch this video, and please tell me if the hand gesture he makes at the 1:59 mark looks at all familiar to any of you Celtics fans?  I know it must look familiar to Paul Pierce...and the $25,000 he paid the league.

what happened to the day when a guy would just run back down the court and didn't have to make a sign or chest bump a guy or jump up on the scorers table and beat his chest like tarzan or go into some form of a seizure, screaming at the top of his lungs in some unintelligible tongue?

he didn't turn it sideways. Its okay to do that if you keep your hands vertical.

I've also heard you need to be at least 6'8, 270 pounds, and be able to bring in at least 100 million dollars of revenue for the league in order to obtain your "license to boast".

No, it's not. A standard applies to SAME or SIMILAR situations. LeBron raised 3 fingers after hitting a 3.  Pierce does it in a pregame.

Apple =/= oranges.

Stupid by the NBA, but you cannot by any means logically compare what LeBron did to Paul's fine.
