  • You know my methods, Watson.
PJ probably watched enough celtics games this year to see that the odds of repeating don't look so good.  maybe he sees something many here refuse to...

So we're down to Zo or Smith? Is there a candidate we're all missing?

Here's a list of current free agents, broken down by position:

Obviously, there's a reason why many aren't currently with a team. I wonder what Dale Davis has left in the tank. If he were 5 years younger, he'd be a great fit. But now?

Michael Doleac is out there. Rasho Nesterovic may be a buyout candidate in a couple months. Kandiman? (I just threw up in my mouth a little.)

I like Dwayne Jones.  Size.  Defense.  Rebounding.

Will the Pacers buyout Rasho? He'd be a good back-up. I'd take Jones too. Heck anyboy who's 6ft10 and up who can defend and rebound.

I really have no substantive information upon which to base my statement regarding Rasho. He's in the last year of his contract, and I don't think Indiana would look to use his expiring deal to bring back players signed beyond this year. [On the other hand, he could be wrapped into a Tinsley trade to make numbers work, so what do I know?]

As for Jones, I liked his hustle when he was with us, but I honestly don't think he brings much more than what POB represents in terms of potential. Bigger, and marginally better rebounding, sure. But I think we need a veteran more than another young project to shore up our front court.

Not to derail the discussion, but there are some interesting available SFs that could help us out on defense. Ronald Dupree and Linton Johnson are two guys I wouldn't mind signing should a roster spot open up, just to see what they can offer.

would i be crazy in thinking larry would be more reluctant with a player being bought out going to danny's celtics? it seemed to me larry was a little jealous of danny's gm success. he himself, on more than one occasion("jokingly" said how mchale should get the executive of the year award.
