has anyone seen the movie, the day the earth stood still?  i am planning on seeing it tomorrow.  i havent read any reviews or know anyone who has seen it.  but the previews look really appealing to me. any input, WITHOUT GIVING ANY OF THE MOVIE AWAY, would be appreciated.

I haven't seen it but I've read a few reviews, and the consensus was the Keanu was the only good thing about that movie.  Pretty much saying his personality and his 'movements' made for a perfect cast.  While Will Smith's son was annoying in it and needs to learn how to act.  But I only read this.

Input:  I thought it was okay.  Nothing great, but not completely stupid, either.  The acting is a little wooden (beyond Keanu), some plot points are silly, and it's not nearly as interesting as the original, but it's entertaining enough.

My girlfriend, who had really low expectations for it, really liked it, and said it held her interest throughout (she had expected to be bored to tears.)

Klaatu barada nikto.

The original is way better. This one is even more engagé and the "cause" is even more ridiculous. Klaatu reminds me a lot of Neo. Nice visual effects though. I hope you enjoy it more than I did.

Rotten Tomatoes did not have a good %, especially the top critics

i saw the movie today and i LOVED it.  i am biased bc it is the type of movie i like.....sci-fi, aliens, end of the world type deal.  i saw it in imax, so it brought out the special effects and sounds to life.  i thought keanu reeves was really good and believeable!

Sorry to jump in but I just wanted to throw out there that they are going ahead with a prequel for it.

Orson Scott Card said in November that he thinks Ender's Game will be a movie sooner rather than later. That is what im excited about.

Klaatu barada nikto.

I loved the reference in "Army of Darkness".
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.
