  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
recently sold at an auction for 240,000 dollars.

Why do people pay so much money for such things? Why is this so special? This isn't Luke Skywalker's lightsaber, its Mark Hamil's.

Hemingway's pen, thats work hundreds of thousands of dollars. Kerouac's typewriter. HS Thompson's hat. Roosevelt's executive chair. Kennedy's desk. I mean those things are worth it. They were used by great men, and the feeling that some tiny little inkling of their spirit being imbided in an object, thats worth something. But Mark Hamil's movie prop?

I don't know, but according to How I Met Your Mother, within 3-5 years we'll have some real lightsabers. I'll wait for those.

according to how I met your mother, the naked guy works, and conference calls are afternoon beers on sky scrapers. I'd love to live in that world.

No, no, no.  According to them the Naked Man works 2 out of 3 times.  Hasn't anyone tried it 3 times?

Depends: Is it Anakin's that Luke uses in the first two movies or is it his Green one that he made himself. Anakin's might be worth the finders fee, having to sift through all that Tibana gas must have been a pain in the butt.

Well of course its crazy...but people with a lot of money don't know what to do with it.

why else would someone have paid as much as they did for an Ortiz jersey buried in the yankee stadium foundation, etc...

Please don't hold it against me that I was on here trying to find out the origins of Blue Milk after an argument with someone:

Not really. It's definitely worse that I was able to dig up the correct spelling, when I could otherwise have been clipping my fingernails.

If I had the money, I'd be all over it. Now, if someone is willing to sell Capt. Picard's phaser...

If you HAVE to get Trek memorabilia, wouldn't you want Kirk's phaser? That's like saying you want Mace Windu's lightsaber.
