Looks like Gerald Green is back to warming the bench. Hopefully Dallas can have a few blowouts to get him some minutes.

It looked like he would get minutes when Howard went down, but he looked pretty bad overall when I saw him, and then Barea went nuts. If Barea continues at anything near this pace, he has a chance for MIP.

He was doing very well at the beginning of the season. What happened?

I can't say enough bad things about Gerald Green. He's atrocious.
Formerly scotthp49 at the old site. Didn't have much to say last year, but I missed you guys too much.

J.J. Barea (NU alum ftw!) has stolen his playing time with that three guard rotation that Carlise has trotted out lately.

Why stats only tell part of the story, these are really to big to ignore.

How tall is Barea? I'm guessing 5-4. ;)
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Too many boneheaded plays when I was watching. Maybe I make him nervous.

Oh dear. The guy isn't an underachiever, he's had chances and he continues to blow them. He looked good in a few games, particularly @ LAL, but even in that game he lost it for them with idiotic plays. I'm really not sure what's wrong with the kid.

And to think Danny Granger was picked right before at 17 when we picked Gerald. The Lottery giveth and taketh away I guess!

Yupp... I remember specifically I was watching with my friend and right before the Pacers picked ESPN went to break and me and my friend were up jumpin and hugging cause we thought we'd get Granger.

Moot point now, I guess though. He'd be a T-Wolf now, probably.

Gerald's stats this year, for whatever they're worth, are not materially different from his career averages.  His PER is down significantly, and just barely above the disaster that was his '07 - '08 campaign.  He's shooting at a shade under 42%, bad enough for a guard/SF but unforgivable when he brings so little else to the table.  I can't recall GG ever getting a tough rebound in traffic or making a nifty pass to a teammate.

You've got to start thinking this is his last shot in the League.  Dallas gave him every chance to win a rotation spot in the preseason and early in the season, but whatever improvement he seemed to show has dissipated.

he might be a t-wolf but if so, we probably could have kept either Gomes or our draft pick.  he would have been a much more valuable addition in the trade than GG. -->less about GG's potential and more about Granger's potential being realized at the time of the trade.
