  • The good ole days.
Neither cheer or boo. Yes he was our 6th man in championship year but then he decided to put money ahead of the possibility of winning another chip.

Give it time and he'll realize that money doesn't necessarily buy you happiness.

If I have 2 rings, have never had a major contract, and was given the option of the two... I'd have gone to New Orleans too.

New Orleans is a contender too, it's not like he went to the Thunder.

Ya no kidding. My point is that the celtics are better than the hornets and even if it boils down to us beating them in the finals.. he'll be kicking himself at the end of the season at the idea that he left for more money. Know that money comes and goes, championships are for forever

I will be at that game and I will probably clap. I won't boo him but he doesn't deserve a standing ovation. He was here for a year and then left for more money on an inferior team. He was a good player but he is dispensable.

he became unbearably overrated VERY quickly, the national media makes it like James Posey had just as much to do with us winning as Ray + KG did.

Absolutely have to cheer the guy.  He had a big role on a team that we'll remember forever.  We didn't give him the offer he thought he deserved, so he moved on, no big deal in my book.  It's not like he was a Celtic from the start and then jumped ship for more money.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

he deserves a standing ovation the first time he is announced or checks into the game.  after that, treat him like any other opponent.

Nothing but a big cheer from me. Posey left it on the court every minute he wore green, and was a big part of that championship season.

Of course once the ball goes up, he is the enemy. Sorry, Pose.

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
Probably already been covered, but cheer wildly pregame, then boo the SOB straight back to N'awlins from tip to buzzer.

EDIT:  Oh yeah, since he's a bench guy a polite round of applause when he first checks in is probably also OK.

Cheer him. We can't boo a player that helped us win a championship. Him going to the Hornets was all business. Can't fault him for that.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6
