Also, I wonder which player was able to get a triple double the fastest in NBA history.  Rondo got his a minute into the 3rd (26th minute of the game).  Does anyone happen to know if someone has done it faster?

And give a minus 1 tommy point to Mike Gorman, for giving away the answer to last night's trivia question in the 3rd quarter, then pretending it never happened.  He mentioned Gomes once Rondo got assist #10, then Gomes was the answer to the trivia question.

I missed that.  I did get the trivia question, but only after he gave the hint that it's probably not someone you would expect.  I remember Gomes' TD though.
Yup

Don't know who's done it the fastest, but I'm pretty sure I've seen Kidd have a TD in the first half at least once and I think more often than that.  It's pretty unusual but not unheard of.

EDIT: Oh, and don't blame Mike for giving away the trivia question.  It's a certainty that that wasn't what the question was going to be til Rondo got the triple-double, and he was almost certainly told by a producer to mention Gomes when it happened.  The fault is somewhere on the production team - Mike couldn't've known that would be the trivia question when he first brought up Gomes, and was probably told to bring him up.

If Tony Allen is the best bench player, I would say that is reason to be concerned.

why?

Tony has been playing very well of the bench, particularly latley. His defense has helped the second unit immensly, and he's attacking and getting to the line very well.

I will have to start with the disclaimer that I have always hated TA as a player so I am a little biased.  He has improved from last season where he was not good at all (didn't move the ball, he was a walking turnover, just a disaster on offense, the horrendous Billups foul, I could keep going Smiley...) but this season is only a small sample so far.  He is not someone I have any faith in playing serious minutes in a big-game situation.  He's improved, but I still don't trust him...

I said it another post that I believe is like Rondo in the 2nd unit.  We all have noticed that the Celtics' ups and downs are through Rondo's ups and downs.  If Rondo is playing aggressive, taking it to the hoop and either passing it or lay up, the offense as a whole improves and plays more in sync.

I think the same can be said with Tony and the 2nd unit.  I have noticed that whenever Tony is aggressive and taking it to the hoop, the 2nd bench plays better.  Much more in sync and productive.
Baby Jesus!

Agree...Donnie said it at the half too.

Espn needs to get their information checked

Rajon Rondo recorded his first career triple-double with 16 points, 17 assists and 13 rebounds. He had the first triple-double for the Celtics since Paul Pierce had one on Feb. 2, 2005.
Looking for a Sig designer....obviously i will be greatful with tps.

Earthball, TP to you for that triple double link.  That was fun to browse through.  Some amazing games in there:

1. Hakeem with a few quadruple doubles
2. A bunch of big men who have done it with blocks
3. A handful of guys who have done it with steals
4. Our boy, Antoine Walker, had 15 triple doubles ... and still counting (oh, wait, that's In-n-Out double-doubles).
5. Fat Lever with 35 career triple doubles!

Anyway, good stuff. Thanks!
