I thought some of you might be interested in this story.  Apparently Rogers got hurt in a ATV accident.

Quote
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Former NBA standout Rodney Rogers was hospitalized after getting injured while riding an all-terrain vehicle.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said Monday that Rogers was four-wheeling in the woods in rural Vance County north of Raleigh on Saturday when he fell off the vehicle.

A patrol spokesman said Rogers was taken by helicopter to Duke University Hospital in Durham. His condition wasn't immediately known Monday night.

I wasn't a big fan of the trade that I believe got rid of Joe Johnson and got us Tony Delk and Rogers, but I do have to admit that he was a big reason on why we got so far in the playoffs that year.  He was a good player that would've fit well in this year's squad as a 6th-8th man.  I hope he is okay.

I never understood that trade. First trade away a great prospect for a couple of road warriors. Then when Rogers played lights out in the playoff they don't bother resigning him.

Lots of people get hurt using steak knives at dinner, so let's label them silly as well...

Blame the inexperienced, untrained rider who is usually out of control, not the machine. I have rode 3 and 4 wheelers for years and years and NEVER have had an accident. That's because I know what I am doing and don't push it past my ability...

I hope RR is doing fine. I live right here and should drop in and see him!

Fair enough.  I just always found ATV's sorta silly.  I'm sure they're a ball to cruise around on.

Yeah it would. I've always like Rodney. Be very sad news if it went down like that.

Unfortunately, the NY Post says that Rogers was paralyzed. Real sad.

There was lots of moves back then that didnt make any sense.  Looking back and seeing how draft picks and trades were managed then, and seeing how its run now will give you a new found understanding of why there are classes for smart kids, and why there are classes for kids who need circle sheets of paper and safety pencils.

All the best to Rodney though, thats horrible if hes paralyzed, I hope he turns out ok.
