JR Giddens Thread- Dancehall/Mavado

I was just wondering have any of you heard of the artist Mavado before. I've recently been interested in roots reggae and dancehall lately you know post Marley & Tosh. Most kids in my age just listen to jam'n 94.5 songs all the time. I used to listen to jam'n daily through 2003-2007 but its so boring. Anybody else listen to dancehall? What do you think of these songs? I think most carribbean artists are better on average than those in North America these days. What kinds of international music do you like?

I'm not into reggae, dancehall, or anything of that type. International music? I kinda like UK R&B.

im not big into mavado, he is just "ok".  marley and tosh are the best roots artists.

the 90's dancehall scene was the best.  beenie man, capleton, buju banton, mr vegas, red rat, early sean paul, etc.

since my wife is of carribean decent, i hear alot of kompa, calypso, etc.  all are good.
