Guys,

I'm a little concerned with the results Eddie has been accumulating from beyond the arc. Don't get me wrong, I know he's money from the charity stripe and generally from the field (although he's currently 5-23 in FG% thus far), but how in the name of Zeus' beard is our veteran 3-point specialist only 1-14 from beyond the arc this season?

I feel that every time Eddie has a chance to drop a dagger into our opponents, he's missing that timely 3-point shot which would force the other team to call timeout and shift all the momentum (and win security) our way.

I'm not ragging on him or anything, because I 100% understand the life of a jump shooter (ups and downs), but I guess I'm just here to vent how disappointing it is to see him hoist bricks through 4 games. Thanks.

The way he was on fire during the preseason, I'm not that worried. But surely, it has been quite dissapointing seeing him missing all those open 3's.

Hopefully just chalk it up to a cold streak from a streak shooter.  Eddie was money (pun moderately intended) in the preseason.  It will come.
Yup

He played pretty well last night and his 3 will come around.  Patience my friend he's going through a cold streak.  If there is 1 guy you never have to worry about confidence with it's House.

Ha! Excellent point in that confidence is never something to be concerned with when it comes to House. I like how he continues to take the open 3, because as we all know not taking the open shot can hur the team more than simply missing the open shot, despite being on said cold strek.

Here's to hoping he snaps out of it TONIGHT during garbage time in Oklahoma.

Yup.  The back to back bankers were rhythm shots.  He just needs to find the groove.

Eddie hit a few timely shots last night that help push the score up with a few clutch freethrows to tell me its a sign he is ok now.

Eddie was always somewhat streaky as a shooter through all his NBA career, no reason to expect that to change now.

He's also one of the few basketball players whose shooting accuracy is not much affected by how heavy the shot is contested. He makes wide open shots and heavily contested ones almost at the same rate (there's a difference, but it's much, much smaller than the average).

They have been asking him to handle the ball too much.  When he handles the ball, it is much tougher for him to get on a roll (or anyone else on the team for that matter).  I think it made a huge difference with them playing Pierce with the bench players last night rather than Allen.  Pierce is better at breaking down defenses, and making plays, which opens things up for guys like House, who make a living by waiting for the ball to swing to them.

still being as depressed as i am about losing james posey - i had a thought while watching the bench play their stint in the 3d qtr. last nite vs houston. this group will struggle some w/o posey (may miss pj brown as well)- but as i watched them run thru the flex, they did a good job of playing within themselves and i think that's the key for this bunch right now.

the Celtic bench is not as strong right now as it was last season and they don't need to try to match last year by playing outside of their abilities. that invariably leads to turnovers and forced shots. this especially applies to tony allen, who does not need to try to be james posey. just be tony allen and contribute what you can w/o hurting the team's effort by forcing things. Doc & co. need to drill good choices into tony.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

It's just a slump. I think his ball-handling is a touch underrated actually. He isn't a PG but that not what is hurting him. It's just he is missing shots he would normally hit. I don't think a 4 game slump is a big deal in the regular season. It's the playoffs where we will need him.

He shot ok last night to, and pretty well in the houston game. his first two games were awful, the last two were ok. just slumping imo.

A lot of players having been shooting horribly or below there normal standards rigth now.

Garnett is shooting 46% which is ok for a guard, but not for a 6'11+ center named Kevin Garnett. It's his lowest field goal percentage in his career. Pierce is shooting 38% from the field, and 65% from the free throw line while playing almost 40 minutes a game. Ray is shooting 35% from the field, and 25% from 3pt range  Tony Allen is shooting 29% from the field. House is shooting 22% from the field, and 11% from 3pt range while not even averaging an assist.

The bad news this won't cut it against the better teams. Our best players are looking old, at least on the stat sheets. The good news we are 4-1 and not playing nearly as well as we are capable of. With that said this team needs to get it's act together.

Yeah, you are right. NBA.com has been giving me some bad stats. It says that perk only played to games and is shooting 45% from the field, and 33% from the line. Espn has the right numbers.
