Greg Oden is out again for 2-4 weeks. That just makes me more and more thankful that we did not take him. He may never reach his "full potential."

Become Legendary.

Official word is the 2-4 week, but I was scrolling through a blazers forum and there was a little rumor spreading that it may be more around the 4-6 week mark (though most likley just speculation).

One of the Portland local radio hosts was already throwing in the towel on Oden and has stated he needs to be traded. Few of the fans too. Add another injury to the fold and Oden may lose the fan support almost entirley.

That stinks. I kinda feel bad for Oden. The potential is there but injuries have taken over his career so far.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Oh I don't know.  Oden, Jefferson, Pierce, Rondo, Perkins, and very likely Gasol doesn't seem that bad even with Oden's injury problems.  certainly would have given the C's a much longer window
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Pierce wouldnt be here. He quietly told danny that if it was rebuilding time (which using the draft pick would have signaled) that he wanted to be traded.

also, its not like oden has had one freak injury.

in HS, he got dinged up often according to reports.

then at ohio st, BAM, wrist

then the knee

now the foot.

hsi total play time in the last 3 years is 30 NCAA games and 12 minutes of NBA basketball. how would that have incresed our window so far?

So far, Oden= Yao light. all the injury problems of yao and half the offense.

I don't think it's going to happen for Oden this year.  I haven't liked what i've seen from him at all.  He's extremely raw.  He needs to get healthy and spend a few years developing.  All things considered he still seems like a 7 foot high school senior... he just happened to play a handful of college games.

I thought Danny was going to Draft Durant and then Trade Paul Pierce to a contender he might push over the top for a player and a couple of picks. Am I wrong?

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Danny would've picked Durant.

I just know it.

It certainly seems like pierce, jefferson, and durant couldv been  the recipe for a power team. Luckily, it doesnt matter, because the C's have rings.

Before the lottery there were stories about Danny talking to Durant's mom.

He scouted a game and his seats happened to be next to Durant's mom.  Supposedly it was just an accident. There was video of him chatting with her during the game.  It seemed innocent enough, but I believe he got fined for it.  It wasn't that big of a deal.

But yeah I believe sometime after the draft he said he would have taken Durant if he had the #1 pick.
