i think the celts ring is pretty--i got to slip one on after the game.
i have seen several other nba champ rings and several of them just seemed like they were either trying too hard or phoning it in (a la lakers rings).
the celts ring looks like a real championship ring--as well as a nicely designed piece of jewelry. it's also timeless.....teams change logos over time so having the actual "CELTICS" script would have dated it a bit....the clover is forever. having an all-out logo on a ring (a la san antonio) kinda cheapens it.
it's simple, and to the point. it's not a school ring, it's not a wedding ring, and it's not a ring that anyone (with any amount of common sense) would wear on a daily basis.
i have small-ish hands, so the ring takes up a decent amt of space on my finger lengthwise, but it's not even as heavy as it looks.
as for the nba's constant fence riding ....ugh. they milked that celts rags-to-riches story for all it was worth, milked the celts-lakers series for all it could....but still seems to have a chip on its shoulder about the celts and the players. it's like they married a rich guy they hate just for the money.
these guys worked their asses off and had a priceless journey last year....if they wanted diamond towels and toilet paper, they've earned the right to do it.
