trey (Hoover, AL): With the Celtics losing Posey and no truly backup point guard, do you think the combo of Walker/Giddeon be enough to offset the lost of Posey? Is Pruitt finally ready to handle the backup pg spot? I think we are going to miss what Posey did for our team and I still feel nerves about our backup center position. Come on man, Patrick O'Bryant.

Chad Ford: No, two rookies aren't going to replace Posey. I think Walker, especially, has a future in the NBA, but that's asking a lot from a rookie with just one full year of college experience under his belt. I think that either Tony Allen or Leon Powe will have to be the guy who steps up. I think Boston will be good, but I am worried about their depth. It's a little scary.

Hmmm, where have I heard that before?  I bet three all-stars can't co-exist either.  And it's too bad we don't have a point guard.   8)

It seems like a lot of people who write about the NBA think the Celtics have a weak bench.  It may seem like that on paper, but the bench is far far from weak.

Ford didn't say that you don't have a PG he said that he was worried about your backup PG.  It's a legitimate concern.  Rondo can't play 48 minutes a game

right, but i think the posters point was that this is verbatiem, the exact same line ford used to dismiss our bench up until the middle of the season last year.

ford likes to do alot of revisonist history. Last year, until the allstar break, he was dismissing our bench as one iof the worst in the league, yet this year in his preview, he said that the "loss of james posey weakens a deep championship bench, one of the strengths of this team last year"

i expect him to flip flop mid year, like he always does. losing posey will hurt, the extent to which these lazy writers are using it to jump back on the western conferance bandwagon is ridiculous.

“I will hurt you for this. A day will come when you think you’re safe and happy and your joy will turn to ashes in your mouth. And you will know the debt is paid.” – Tyrion

Rondo didn't need to last year and won't this year. Rondo will be playing 30-40 minutes with House filling in. We did fine with this line up last year.

Only time we might get in trouble is if Rondo goes down with an injury, but you can say that about any team.
